Add engine bay fire supression. Small gas leaks evaporate, but oil doesn't flash off. Eventually it catches fire. Beautiful work, thanks for sharing your build.

Legit EVERYTHING you guys and PFISPEED use on your builds are those turbos! I was running a turbonetics gtx58/62 the oil seal started going out so I figured I’d give it a try. Best thing I ever did! Changed nothing but the turbo and picked up 12whp on 2 less psi an amazing unit! James is going to get you front halfing wayyy past the record! The whole KZbin crews are just all so amazing to see supporting each other and helping each other go faster and do awesome things! It’s gotta be them HELL YA BROTHER tire stencils! Down a hole can hear it on 2nd run popping back through the intake definitely had issues with valves seating again.Keep them revs under control stop bouncing it off the rev limiter on the big end and keep the valves in it. I'D compression test it before next run without a doubt pretty sure your valves are not seating properly

Congrats on backing up & even improving on that 8 second run. That lost rocker cover bolt could have been due to engine vibrations. There's nothing like a solid mounted engine to vibrate all the bolts loose, & have little things like the alternator & water pump fall off. Watched the 1320 video of the car at FL2K & that nut was still in place then. Also, I would love to see you spend some time on the Red Hatch, replacing all the broken studs & such, then try to run a 9 second pass, before you go all wheel drive with it. The Red Hatch & Hondaru are what got me watching your channel, so seeing the Hatch get some love would be good. While I'm asking, could you get the shopping G0-Kart out to Braedanten & give it a hit, just for a laugh. I know it's back in Colorado, aren't Brent & Jamie coming back soon for Cleetus' next 'blow up some more Crown Vic's' Pay Pay View. It'd be a good Pace Car, too.

Kyle if you go back and look at the in car video of both runs, you can see in the first video the oil started right after landing on the first of the two wheelies and it was from the left side of the glass (right side of the engine bay) and on the second run it started about half way through the run , and was again from the right side of the engine bay. Get yourself a baffled catch can with duel filters to scavenge that crankcase blow by oil and send it back into the sump and not on the track. For it to be pushing it out a missing o ring with the amount you are getting you have some pretty high crankcase pressure and the oil will find a way out if you don't take measures to control it's flow. In the short term you could always steal the catch can off the hatch.

It's not crank case pressure if you have good ring seal.. Being on 2 step is evacuating the oil from the sump so fast / high volume that the head can't drain it back efficiently.. Take a look at a scrap cyl head and see if you can modify it to drain oil a bit faster If you had crank case pressure that high the gatorade bottle would be long gone .. Like the rocket toy thing they make with water..

Crank case pressure was the issue. However, the catch can wasn't the issue. The valve cover was missing a washer and a nut. He thought the catch can was the issue, because it was full of oil.

He should not have high crankcase pressure if rings are sealing well. Period. The oil evacuation of the sump and oil Draining of the head aren't close anymore as honda would have designed. The reason why the oil squirts from the missing nut is because of crank pressure yes, but the oil pooled around so Hugh under the rocker is why its a jet of oil not a little spit. I bet you the cylinder head is struggling to drain the oil and that's why there's so much of it, not just a light spray... crank case pressure with the normal, relatively smalll amount of oil in a cyl head, wouldnt lead to his car soaked in oil.. A light coating maybe but not a damn pool.

MR2 needs to get that hight sensor up and running so we can get some more gnarly launches out of it! Also those turbos are just fine for pure power numbers, but they might struggle a bit more on a drift setup where you are more on and of the throttle. Still might be good as it has a bigger engine spooling them and you could also use some NOS as a spooling aid.

Defo should use these private track sessions and ask james to come along (help you with launching etc), have brent on the phone if needed and dial in that launch and any issues with the car (if you're not confident in the car, you won't be in yourself), make this solid, keep pushing the boost, rpms, find the limits, dial the suspension in, add more boost, like what james is doing with his car and i would DEFINITELY get a wheelie bar and that little sensor fitted to the front of the car, wheelies are cool but they cause damage and they don't win races, go n get that 8.50, make this a deep 8s car n secure the fastest MR2 in the world title, you got it kyle! PS: ride out the gears a bit longer in 4th n 5th, try not to short shift and push it to get the MPH you need.

Any piston ring is going to have SOME blowby, meaning under normal conditions the crank case should be vented so it maintains atmospheric pressure internally. Otherwise you will start building pressure inside your crankcase. This is why cars are often equipped with PCV vavles (Positive Crankcase Vent ). This is ESPECIALLY prevalent when you're running 30+ psi of boost because the compression increase by the added volume will add to the pressure. Not to mention the turbo drain lines are gravity return (which relies on atmospheric pressure) so when the crankcase builds up a LOT of pressure, especially enough to push a gatorate bottle sized amount of oil past the tiny OEM crankcase vent, it's probably affecting the turbo oiling as well. All of these issues could be fixed, and costly piston ring replacement or turbo CHRA rebuilds can be avoided, simply by plumbing in a vented catch can.

Look up mansbrake with nxtshiftinnovations it's a trans brake for manual transmission you push clutch hold button then it will keep clutch down tell you let off button makes for consistency and can be adjusted with valve to have solenoid release slow or faster to help slip clutch
