Honestly with the datamine information of things like Ravenloft and possible gateways i think multiverse threat makes sense. Though i mainly hope this means that DLC and possible potential adventures can be added by traveling through the multiverse. I'd be down to take as much content as they will give me since the framework to this game is already so great

Knowing Swen and Larian, there'll probably be two or even three final bosses depending on player choice My guess is either a Illithid/Elder brain lich, the githyanki leader or, and this is a stretch, maybe even Karsus or mystara

yeah.there is a trio (presumably) and the original trio fought to get the power for themselves, so it would make sense. diferent bosses at diferent points in game. men that is sure difficult to organize on a game as huge as it is...

I'm of _very_ mixed feelings about the idea of Baldur's Gate 3 being a "multiversal" game. I'm here to play a Baldur's Gate game. The cameo from the Knights of Solmania in Baldur's Gate 2 was fine because it was just that: a _cameo._ I'm familiar with the Forgotten Realms setting, but I know very little to nothing about Dragonlance or the other settings. Also, throwing the multiverse in this game feels a bit like riding the coat-tails of the MCU and how they've opened up their own multiverse.

I agree. I believe Larian will want to conclude BG3 solidly but I'm pretty sure it will be used to catapult DnD into the multiverse... hopefully Wizards aren't intending that to be BG3's sole use.

Some setting crossovers work better than others IMO. Greyhawk and Forgotten Realms? Sure. A short jaunt to Sigil? I can dig that. But Eberron? Ravenloft? Just make a game centered around that IP instead. But more than anything, I really don't want to be 60 hours into BG III before realizing that it's a vehicle wotc is using to justify something drastic like merging the D&D and MtG universes or setting off some sort of Spellplague-level event in the Realms.

I agree with you and back then I had read the dragonlance books, nice cameo but they are different settings and should stay that way. A multiverse had always been a thing but other than a odd cameo or very rare mention I personally feel it will overshadow the setting and hate the push wizards are doing for their own multiverse. dungeons and dragons was always more gritty while magic was more bombastic over the top and hate the direction they have gone.

Considering we aren't getting to level 20 it would be extremely unlikely we would fight any real deity, quasi-deity or big Forgotten Realms heavy hitter without being instantly vaporized. Like an Elder Brain or an adult dragon would be the upper limit of the things we could realistically fight as a final boss since this isn't 1 to 20 game.

Well even in the early days of D&D we had GammaWorld and BootHill(With rules of conversion) as alternate to Greyhawk. and the Planes. 2nd Ed. gave us ForgottenRealms, SpellJammer, DarkSun, DragonLance and alot of books about the Planes. 3.5 and 5th expanded(or better said re-used old material) So there are all kinds of Planes and worlds, but we don't have 100 Spidermans...Know what I mean? The Elder Brain Dragon idea is interesting. I still think some connection to Karsus - or more likely Ioulaum is very plausible (and I think would actually be really neat). Pretty sure the former is now essentially a Great Old One Patron - there's your Far Realm link, and the latter is well... an Elder Brain lich.

Maybe. Maybe just like in the Divnity Series, you are a Chosen among the god you worship. The enemies for Baldur's Gate 3 are the Dead Three, and later on the DLCs, u start working your way to ascension or something like that.

Maybe I’m out of the loop but has there been confirmation that BG4 isn’t a possibility? It makes sense if BG3 ends it… with Larian having DOS3 and possibly new IP that they want to get to…🤔 It would be cool if they did create a multiverse for DLC purposes … could you imagine a Ravenloft DLC where start at lvl 5 and you get to lvl 10-12 with some specific sub classes only that DLC… 😳 or put in Greyhawk or Dragonlance or whatever world/lore they choose! I’m not as versed on the table top game nowadays especially 5E but it always seemed to me the funnest lvl’s with your character were 5-12 because after that your character is too OP or it’s about what buff and de-buffs you use not actually strategies and taking chances with your rolls… just a few of my thoughts and thank you for your content it’s much appreciated!

A multiverse already exists in DnD of course but I think they are trying to amalgamate the worlds a bit more and like you said I could definitely see the advantages of that, just as long as BG3 gets its due. BG4 hasn't been spoken about anywhere, but I'd personally be surprised if they ran with it and didn't just finish the saga at BG3. As you said there are loads of other worlds to explore and they don't have to go with the typical BG tropes of seeking out divinity etc... so a fresh saga would be good.

The DM guide in dungeons and Dragons has a section where it discusses making custom monsters. If you look at that guide and then at the premade monsters it's clear that most of the premade monsters are nerfed compared to where they should be for the CR. CR is honestly rather useless beyond being a basic guide.

They are competing with Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous. I'm which you can compete with Gods and Demon Lords, so I could see a divine enemy. But the focus on mind flayers makes me doubt this a bit, they tend not to really worship gods or make pacts with them.

WOTC pushing the multiverse when they've barely covered Forgotten Realms outside of the Sword Coast is disappointing. However references or relatively small quests to different planes in BG3 would be exciting since the outer planes are the main homes of illithids and the Gith

So the artifact is a palindrome of the gods, each triangle connects to 7 other triangles, that are probably sub aspects of those gods, on the exterior of the cube good dead is counted as radiating while bad things are absorbing. The one that steals the weapon is a cleric of shar, shar wants darkness in the world, and if the exterior of the artifact is light then the interior is shadow. if you turn the artifact inside out it becomes a sphere. Tav is the final symbol in the Hebrew alphabet, it contains 22 sybols, there is 20 gods you can chose from in baldurs gate, 20 sides on the artifact, we as the players are nr 22 so the interior has to be 1. The cube show us the dead 3 and the dream show us what resembles the armored guy of them. All gods sealed the raven queen to the shadowfell, and the shadow fell is a dark reflection of the forgotten realms, breaking the seals will plunge forgotten realm into darkness, and that is what shar wants. It will make what is good, evil and what is seen as evil, good. as it is an reflection. And AO wont get pissed because its the same thing as it is from the oposite perspective as everything is a palindrome. I think bg3 will be about taking out the 3 aspects of the dead 3, and part one that we are able to play now is probably the diffrent aspects of bane, chapter 2 will probably be the aspect of myrkul, and part 3 when we get to baldurs gate will probably baal. Ofcourse just a speculation.

We prevented the "others" from becoming a god in BG1. We prevented Irenicus from being a god in BG2. We will simply stop the Absolute from attaining godhood in BG3. No god bashing required. BTW: Rewatch the cube vs absolute encounter, you are describing the absolutes henchmen in the datamined stuff.

@@HarbsNarbs I don't think we'll be fighting a deity, but optionally fighting their avatars (or a group of them) doesn't seem far fetched; due to the level cap floating in the unknown. However... there's a lot of exploitable combat quirks in the game/engine that I believe will allow a significantly lower level group of characters to trivialize a fight with a deity level Big Bad.
