P2 is so stupid it hurts. 'Laws' and 'regularities' are manmade concepts, descriptions of things that we simply observe in the universe. If I jump and land on the ground due to gravity it is not because it is a law. This kind of things simply happen in the universe, then we describe that 'ayo, every time this happens - let's call it a law!' Bro puts the cart before the horse, confuses the egg with the chicken etc. Jim, a simple challenge for you - if laws of physics exist... try to fill a bucket with them.

Since I never see someone asking presupps something along the lines of, “why isn’t it more likely that you’re God is an imaginary construct people who need/needed order and certainty to make sense of a scary, uncertain and seemingly uncaring universe, than it is that their god exists?” This is probably a bad argument, but I’d like someone more philosophically literate to let me know why.

I have seen people ask that. The issue is they are incapable of having an honest conversation as the theistic presupp has melted their hippocampus. There are actually quite a few studies on this theism and the hippocampus.

Also its a circular argument. But apparently everything is ultimately circular. If thats true then there is no need for philosophy and we can all get a beer and watch the game.

In Jimbobs world view we are nothing but soul things made up of nothing at all, because souls are not physical things and thus we are in fact, made of nothing at the core level of reality, god as well is nothing at all, because it is the greatest of the soul things. It exists outside of reality as we know it, without any time to do anything and no space to exist in, in his worldview only blood offered by a pure being that is also a god can make the father-god thing able to even look our way, and there is also a ghost flying around letting people know that there really is a god in a way they can know for sure that its real, but that only happens to some people and not others. Its unclear if Jimbob's worldview is one where the world/universe is 6000, 14,000 or some other age old, or if he thinks the world is shaped like a bowl (Spherical Dome). Nor is it clear if under his worldview one must be fully immersed in water for the baptism to count and/or if one must speak with the tongues to prove that the ghost is really in them. What is clear that under Jimbob's world view its okay to be a bully towards others. I bring all this up because under my worldview, Jimbob's worldview is incorrect, and because of the ONE AND TRUE RELIGION OF LOBSTERIST I know that this is true. See, my real religion negates his fake made up worldview because LOD ate the first god and now god is dead but only the LOD is the real deity now. Lobsterist shows us that worship is pointless because LOD only cares about Lobsters, and that whatever things we humans do is of little to no worry to LOD. Thus my worldview is better then his and he can't debunk the Lobsterist and in fact, no one has EVER debunked the Lobsterist, and no one has even tried to debunk the Lobsterist! Those that read it will understand how TRUE it is and real it is those who do not read it will not gain the understanding that is beyond understanding with the super real for real mega *TRUTH* anyway, I just had to share all that with you and not prove any of it and tell you to look for the Lobsterist on the internet because its on there somewhere and that makes it real, but the others things on the internet that are not it are not real maybe most likely. Also I wanted to see what would happen if I wrote this long paragraph thingy out and posted it somewhere and I guess I will find out now after this is posted, maybe nothing will happen. Maybe the wifu anime girls I want will become real somehow. Maybe I'll gain a million dollars tax free without anyone being hurt and also in a legal way and also I can spend it - got to be careful of those weird wish granting genies that like to find loopholes. Hope your day is good BFT (Breakfasttacos). If anyone that isn't BFT reads this, I also hope they have a good day, but if your Jimbob and you are reading this I hope that your day is.... good. See I was going to go for something else for a moment but nah. I will not wish ill upon anyone not that wishing does anything, its kinda like prayer - wishing and prayer are in fact, the same thing. Magic 8-ball is also like god, but unlike god it exists and can be tested. God is a wonky thing idea that someone made up at some point - how do I know? LOBSTERIST. Geeez. Anyway. So, yeah good times. Meow meow meow. Also if you are reading this and you are a single woman in my area let me know because I keep getting all these ads about you! O_o;; weird. Jimbob says that you cannot use the laws of physics to explain the laws of physics, because that would be circular. But we do this all the time. Biology is explained through chemistry. Chemistry is explained through atomic physics. Atomic physics is explained through subatomic physics. Subatomic physics is explained through electromagnetism. Once we solve the mysteries of quantum gravity, we will figure how to explain everything.

I don't know of the original to respond, but I can already reject both theist and atheist premises simultaneously. You can't prove a deity doesn't exist, any more than they can prove one does. You both fault to circular arguments, where theists will just claim it's faith, atheists will claim they don't have to prove a negative. By all the same metrics you apply to defeat his claims, you condense to "logic", but you only offer their equivalent of "faith" to assert any deity does not exist, despite your equal lack of conclusive proof. This is called horseshoe theory. Agnosticism is the wiser position, I'll stick with Sagan. Good day to you!

Concern trolling aside, what'd you think of JimBob's argument?
@Heahapn26 күн бұрын
@@shassett79 JimBop presupposes what a miracle is to an atheist. He defines what a miracle is as "A miracle is an event or phenomenon that cannot be explained by the laws of physics" But I don't think that's what a miracle is defined as. A miracle could be a statistical improbability to the point where the very idea of it existing implies something supernatural must have been behind it. JimBop's argument is built around making up a definition and arguing with it. Which is a strawman fallacy. Miracles are considered to happen all the time by theists not because it is against the laws of physics but because it goes against what's likely to happen. An example of this is someone who was in a tragic car crash and is told by specialists they will never walk again. but months later they can walk again. This example isn't against the laws of physics but is considered a miracle. Which goes against his notion of what a miracle is.
