For the record, for all those who think we teach sex ed to children too young, I'd like you to consider this: I have a late birthday and first received sex-ed in grade 4 (making me 8 years old). Had I received such education 2-3 years earlier, I may have been better equipped to tell my mother about the 53xual abuse I was receiving at the hands of my babysitter (single mother; repeat babysitter). I might have been better equipped to recognize, for myself, that it wasn't just some fun playtime, but represented something that was wrong, something I should tell an adult about. I didn't understand at the time that it was wrong. I didn't tell my mom until I was 18. Dre, most amusingly says that if two people witnessed a car wreck, they would tell different stories. I have to point out that if two people were asked to imagine a car wreck and describe it later, they would also tell different stories. His point wasn't worth debunking to be honest, but different stories is problematic, and it can't be ignored and wouldn't be ignored by a jury in a court of law. Also eye witness testimony, which is the least reliable type of testimony, means a live person recalling events that they personally witnessed from their memory. Stuff written down in a book, edited and transcribed, even if it was at one time recalled from memory, is not eye witness testimony.

Trying to lump Aristotle into this doesn’t really track because we’re talking about HOW information is preserved and recalled, not WHO wrote it. And yes, car wrecks. Because it’s a simple example of how two people witnessing the same event can give wildly different accounts. That’s human perception 101. Now compare that to something written down, edited, and passed through multiple hands over centuries...at that point, it’s not even eyewitness testimony anymore. It’s collective memory with a lot of room for error. "Stuff written down" is different depending on the purpose, context, and reliability of the source. Aristotle’s writings, or basically any historical documents in general, were never intended to be viewed as infallible or unified, like how most modern day Christians view the bible. Historians, from the past and today, document and interpret events based on available evidence. Those interpretations are open to be revised or challenged as new evidence emerges. Compare this to the Bible. Those who claim it is unified and infallible often do so from a theological perspective rather than a historical or literary one. The Bible wasn’t written as a single, cohesive book by one author, if it was, and we try to view it as such, then it is filled to the brim with contradictions, fallacies and other problematic issues like mismatched eyewitness testimony. Scholars of the Bible view it for what it actually is: a compilation of texts written over centuries by numerous authors, in different languages, and for different purposes that reflect the cultural, political, and theological concerns of their times. Presupposing the Bible’s infallibility imposes a standard that its own history doesn’t support. Aristotle and historians offer accounts that are meant to be scrutinized and debated based on available evidence. Those who view the Bible as infallible ignore evidence based research and resist any kind of scrutiny or debate.

There is ZERO probability of my existence in a world that would not allow for my existence. You have no understanding of probability at all to posit that such a universe exists. I do not make the mistake of demanding that the universe fit within my very limited human experience. If there were some sort of Creator who designed the universe, it would be beyond my own limited human comprehension to speculate upon the nature of such an entity.

I don't see my previous reply... I can assume that I exist. This makes it CERTAIN that the universe supports my existence. It is mathematically impossible that the universe be otherwise. You also seem to confuse the concept of "improbable" with "impossible." Low probability events can and do happen. My existence in this universe might have been improbable, but it certainly has happened. I have absolutely no basis to speculate on the nature of a universe that does not allow for my existence since that is IMPOSSIBLE.

John 3 16 invites all to know God's love and promise for them. As you draw near to Him, implementing the teachings and character of Jesus into your daily life and testing the promises contained in His many Names, you will have the opportunity to experience firsthand what the disciples (and Believers all over the world today) came to know - that Jesus is the Way and Truth and has the words of everlasting Life. God's Word urges you to seek Him while He may be found, indicating the time will come when all your searching will prove fruitless.

@Meep-j7z what is there after this life? Do you have a choice to keep living? Do you have a choice not to die? Jesus promises life everlasting in His Kingdom. After this life, for those who don't want to be in His Kingdom there is everlasting death. Frankly I don't see the problem. You expect to die, don't you? Well, you can live or get what you expect. Is it love to force you to be in His everlasting Kingdom against your will? Why do you hate on God because you don't want anything to do with Him and He obliges by giving you what you expect?
