That looks brilliant. I like that it flips horizontal to vertical. I made a horizontal one a few years back similar to yours but with flywheels instead of a gearbox. The weak point is the pinion on the shaft. Also I used a sacrificial brass plate instead of lubrication on the sliding saddle. Well done chaps👍

I've seen many splitters over the years, some homemade, array of designs but all hydraulic powered by a small gas engine. Your's has to be the most complex of all them, what I like about this design is how quick the wedge returns to the ready position. 🇨🇦

Just a suggestion...I know this was a long build but for some of us "OLD" people who do things based on visual presentation than on words could you make a little larger videos when doing these as this one seemed rushed. An ingenious use of a power drill to lower the engine onto the bar. It works and saves on expensive tools if you do not need them.🙂
