The end of an 'adventure' day starting with an uplift to around 1600m and descending a total of 2000m with no further van support. Rode in sunshine, through cloud and then back to sunshine.
So many different types of weather, vegetation and trails in just one day. One of the great things about riding on the Island. It might be small but it sure is mighty!
Longer videos to come. This one is a single trail into Machico. We're riding with FreeRide Madeira all week and being guided by the quite fantastic Rui. This is our third day and we're on the way to the beach for well earned beer having been out since around 10am. It's now getting on for 3pm.
The trail was described as steep, rocky and exposed and while it doesn't start that way, it certainly lives up to the description around half way down. At 4 minutes, it's not even one of the longer trails here. The quantity and quality of trails are amazing, much of which is due to Freeride Madeira donating 20% of their profits to building and maintaining the trails.
Johnnie is riding his new SC Bronson following me on my now quite battered Nukeproof Giga. Occasional shots of Haydn on his Nukeproof Mega.
Lots more to share. There's going to be some serious editing sessions over the next few weeks as we rode so many trails in five days :)
