There are a lot of comments here where people seem to have completely missed the point of this video. Madeleine I think you’re incredible for sharing your own experiences with us as well as creating a safe space for those who may have gone or are going through something similar. I’m still trying to get over food issues from when I was at Weight Watchers several years ago and this series has really helped me. Spoiler alert, my body and my weight aren’t the problem, toxic diet culture is! Thank you ❤️

Recipes look amazing! Fellow vegan here, 6 years 🌱 I think some people might be getting confused in the comments due to the titles of the videos in this series, such as “I want my old body back” “clothes don’t fit” etc. But Madeleine clearly isn’t bothered about her weight gain, she’s showing how she’s enjoying being an intuitive eater and being in her new larger body. As long as she’s happy and healthy that’s all that matters girlies xx

Thank you for sharing this. I typically find these kind of what I eat videos make me feel like I'm eating wrong, it is nice to see that other people eat crisps and have to make oven meals occasionally too! I would love to cook more but I do end up resorting to convenience foods more often than I would like. I agree that thinking about making meals more balanced in terms of protein, fats etc rather than restricting is a much more positive way to look at it, whenever I restrict I just end up obsessing over certain foods.

I appreciate this series of yours. I survived living my life with an eating disorder when I was in high school till after I married my high school sweetheart. I'm from the states. I was raised in the 80s and grew up in the 90s. And in the 90s, at least at my school, there was counseling classes for teens with eating disorders. It helped me so much, as I come from a family at that time, full of narcissistic people. Being the oldest of six children, I needed a open outlet to talk, but I didn't have someone to talk to often. I took it upon myself and took out my family problems out on my weight. I was always on the heavier side as a kid. I don't know why I saw my weight to define who I am at heart. Looking back at my childhood photos, I wasn't even that heavy as I imagined, but kids my age always teased me, made fun of me and bullied me. Years later, I'm in a way better place now, mentally with my relationship with food. I enjoy my food now without nitpicking at my body after eating just one small donut hole🥹🫂❤️ I also have kept my workouts because movement is a huge part of our self-care. I can enjoy eating all sorts of varieties of foods. But tbh as well, I'd be lieing if I said I don't get slight bad thoughts about myself and food still. I do my best to squish those negative thoughts and tell myself... I am a loving mother, I have a beautiful little family here, I have an amazing, wonderful husband. I appreciate all my friends and these helpful KZbin channels. I tell myself, I'll be ok. I'm once again humbled after giving my self a pep talk. We have to be our own advocate. We have to be our own cheerleader. As long as I'm not abusing my portions of what I'm eating, I will enjoy fueling my body daily. I appreciate your vlogs on this series, because I relate to them all so much. I have to say a huge...HUGE... Thank you. You're such a beautiful individual. And not just saying that! You truly are!!Anyways, I wish you and your family a beautiful, safe holiday season 🎄✨❤️❄️🎀🍰🍷☕☃️🦌🛷

I'm not someone who has ever struggled with weight gain, but I do struggle with putting weight on. I've never really been a big eater, although I love food and cooking. I trained as a chef so love experimenting with flavours etc. I'm also a vegan that really doesn't like vegan chocolate etc. I'm not overly keen on the cheeses. Some I dont mind but I've just kind of stopped eating them. I love your content. I love how down to earth you are. Keep being you 💚💚

One of the main things that women do is to eat the same amount of food as men do so let’s not be surprised when we gain weight.I used to do that before but not anymore and is a game changer honestly.I just spread some thoughts here ,not shaming anyone or being mean to anyone because I am not perfect either!!

My takeaway from this series is not about the risks of putting on weight or how to lose weight, it's more about forming a healthy mentality when it comes to food and how to make healthy, maintainable choices which help you to enjoy your life.

Saying you're interested in your health "as a priority which includes food freedom" makes no sense. It's a basic fact that carrying extra weight is a risk factor for health.
@MadeleineOliviaАй бұрын
I’d recommend you do more research into this as this approach is very outdated and simplified. Being mentally ill with an eating disorder is a risk factor for health
@Shopaholic2000Ай бұрын
@@MadeleineOlivia Sorry but it's proven carrying too much weight and in the wrong places leads to among other thins - joint and cardio issues, diabetes, skin conditions... not everyone with weight problems has mental health issues. No one is suggesting what you do but it's a controversial topic and everyone's entitled to their opinion albeit respectfully put.
@MadeleineOliviaАй бұрын
Weight is not the sole indicator of someone’s health. There are many other factors to consider so it is unhelpful to focus on by itself. There is a lot more that would need to be taken into consideration. Cardio issues, diabetes or skin conditions as your examples would be caused by more than someone’s weight.
@timipapp7810Ай бұрын
Eating whatever we want is not the right way to deal with weight gain....a bit of restriction would help....otherwise we'll end up gaining more and more weight and Madeleine is far from her fourthies where she will have to take care of herself anyway to balance her hormones...just a friendly advice. Hve you tried inttermittent fasting? You can still eat what you want but needs to be within a time window. The peri-menaupose gifted me 15kgs nearly overnight. It affected me to so much mentally to go from size 8 to 14 that I was given therapy sessions to talk it over. I started fasting over 1 month ago and eating more protein than carbs (I still eat them but careful the portion is less if you see what I mean). I also take berberine supplement which naturally supress appetite and now I only eat twice a day and it's enough to satisfy me. I am now a size 12. I need to start doigng more core exercise. Anyway, I hope I didn't bore you. Just another solution that works if you want to try it 😀xx

@@MadeleineOlivia I think perimenopause complicates this. It is a whole other topic really and there is lots of other symptoms alongside it.
