Mince pies are an absolute novelty in the US. In fact, my office is having a White Elephant gift exchange and I made a little British Christmas gift basket together from things I found at an imports store. I have Christmas crackers, mince pies, a pretty Christmas tin of loose tea, and a mug (which isn’t from the UK, but it is just a nice cream and beige stoneware mug you can use all year). I’m hoping it goes over well.

Growing up in the Midwest in the 60s-70s, my mom made an easy mince dessert that was a favorite (although I do agree that the mini mince pies are a novelty to me): line a rectangular baking pan with slice and bake sugar cookies. Cover with a topping made of a large jar of mince pie filling, chopped walnuts, and chopped maraschino cherries. Bake and enjoy! Canned mince is easy to find in the US.

I hope your British basket went over well! I fell in love with mince pies after spending two years on the Isle of Lewis, I’d never had them before and didn’t think they were real actually 😂. Like maybe just in fairy tales. I’m a midwestern girl and back now for years. Can’t find them anywhere nearby now 😢. Not even the filling!

Love everything about the way you decorate your house & your cooking ... we moved into our Georgian house just a year and half now and the first thing i did was take a huge cutting from our tree and put it on the dining room wall, Now we decorate it for festive occasions, love to see you making all your own things, i made my own wreath this year which was a first and a few sore fingers later, so enjoying vlogmas from your house so thank you 🙂

6:06 you can get a small battery-powered light set for the foraged Greenery, and they usually have a timer, so turn it on once, and it will go on and off on its own.

The garland on the beam is lovely. We still have some 'vintage' 90s Christmas decorations which we love but I also love the idea of decorations that don't last forever; sort of a reflection of nature where everything has a life cycle and a season. It also means that you can create something slightly different each year. The pasta looks yummy! 🍝

Please everyone be careful about bringing sticks and branches from the outside ❤️ there can be insects in it that you don’t want in your house, such as termites and bedbugs. Especially ones that were found on the ground! I always quarantine mine for some time in the bathroom after giving branches a very hot shower (boiling water pretty much).

Termites are not found in Europe, and bed bugs are also very rare here (and they do not live outside, just as their name suggests). What you can get in England is spiders, ladybugs, butterfly cocoons, flies and such.
