I like Goelia’s natural-fiber items. Their silks are very thin and lightweight, but that suits my climate and preferences pretty well. But, their sizes run about two sizes smaller than US ones, so always use your current measurements and their size chart. Their Asian sizing is very small in the bodice and waist, and are designed for flat chests, so I take that into consideration, too. Often the items would otherwise fit fine, but are too tight over my rib cage, and I’m slender, but of European descent. For my heritage, I actually have a very delicate, slender, and petite frame, but these clothes can still run tight. I’m about a 6-8 US, but usually order a Large at this brand, or even an XL. Not that I care what the label says, but it’s helpful to know before ordering. When in-between sizes, or if in doubt, size up one size. I haven’t tried to do any returns yet, I dread it, it doesn’t look very easy.

Agree - their natural fibre pieces are really lovely, I'm also a big fan of their jackets which I think look very elegant. I often size up one to a medium, but find my pant size works fine for trousers/skirts for a regular fit (that said, though I'm curvier at the hip I'm pretty standard sizing). Their sizing chart is really helpful! :)

Such nice pieces from Goelia. This was a helpful vlog my legs are in proportion to my body but we all want to have long legs.

Thanks Kaye! Absolutely, they do those classic pieces so well. Hehe and agree - plus gives that visual illusion of height, too!

What's your opinion on wearing pants with tennis shoes? When I try to wear full length, the length of the pants rests on top of the tennis shoe and almost looks little-kiddish, whereas with an ankle jean, the ankle bone is exposed and seems more flattering.

Sometimes it really comes down to personal preference. A tennis shoe I think looks great with a straight/wide leg pant that is a bit cropped - at least that's what my eye is drawn to (experimentation is key as so much of style comes down to taste)

My legs are proportionally long, but I’m so short that’s not saying much! It is a easier to style this figure proportion, except that my waist is set so high I can’t find trousers or shorts that fit even just ok, they always ride up. Then, my waist is poorly defined, but my hips and thighs too skinny, so I have a size 4 hips and size 8-10 waist (US). After trying various trouser styles for 50 years with absolutely no luck, I decided to stick with skirts and dresses (I have some men’s 501s, just in case, but they look as comical as most other pants do). My longish, skinny legs look great in short skirts, so show them off this way. Someone told me yesterday that I “have the legs of a teenager” and I do, but I’m 64! Most of my DNA isn’t so beautiful, but I did get lucky in the legs department, thanks Grandma (when she died in her mid-80s, the hospital staff couldn’t believe her “teenage legs”, either). We all have features we think are better or worse, the thing is to find the best styles, as you do, Jamie🙂

My MiL I think has a similar body shape to you - her legs are so slim (probably equivalent of a US0) and then she's a bit curvier around her waist. Sounds like you have incredible legs - lucky you!! I'd show them off too if I were you :) And yes agree, all our bodies are so different, figuring out what we want to highlight (and don't) and the best way to do this makes putting together an outfit you feel good in so much easier :D

I would add: wear more vertical necklines, like a V-, square- or slot-neckline. I personally think the V of an open, classic, pointed-collar, button-front shirt is quite flattering and lengthening, and the collar brings the eye up to the face. These more vertical necklines really help visually shorten a long torso. High, round necklines are the least flattering on almost everyone, unless one has a very bony, scrawny chest, neck or face. You must be doing a great job, Jamie, your legs look quite long to me! Your torso might be a tad on the long side, but really, with your height and very slim figure, I never would have noticed that. Try the vertical necklines, you might be pleasantly surprised!

It's interesting you say v neck for a long torso - I've always found this to be a little elongating (adds more length to the neck too) so typically tend to avoid them, though I suppose in wider, boxier formats it would have a shortening effect :) Haha! All visual trickery - it's very noticeable to me when I'm wearing the wrong clothes, and you wouldn't believe this, but many shorter influencers have longer legs than I do. I've bought the same pants (same size) in the past and the length has been far too long on me but cropped on them. By the measurements I basically have a petite length inseam. Funny given I'm 172cm which is on the taller end of "average" 😅
