I would be fascinated to know how this was mastered. It sounds good through my studio speakers, but also comes through surprisingly well on built in phone speakers.

Since she is using in ears they just layer her marimba audio with the master backing track. They might not be playing it on speakers while filming.

@@fuzzylightning that's probably spot on. 🙂 I was pretty mush just referring to the sound of the marimba itself. Cheers 👍

Mesmerizing music and performance; Mr. Alejandro Viñao's vibrant composition plus Ms. Lee's exceptional musicianship make for a wondrous presentation!

Her left headphone seemingly teleports through the video hehehe ;)

Cool, percussion and electronics, and it doesn't sound like a scientific experiment. Man, everyone should drum or play some kind of percussion instrument. This is very well done.

Good job!! It's a really great piece and the performance is good. It's a nice looking video, just take more care when editing, like the headphone or some cuts like in the minute 3:00 (left hand), these things are quite obvious.

i dislike this composition a lot. i don't get Vinao's music at all its like his intention is to make it make no sense.

It’s something you need to develop a pallate for. Definitely not something you can appreciate at face value. I think a lot if it makes sense.

Do you do that with everything - dismiss the things that don’t make sense to you? I don’t necessarily agree Viñao’s music is an acquired taste either. He has at times very clear DnB patterns and tones in there but in any case seems to have embedded many pop influences into this piece which makes the whole construction approachable, likeable (if you indeed like the pop flavour) and actually easy to understand. He’s very good at making it clear where he’s going with the material. It’s not predictable but it’s not random or disorganised or ill-conceived either. It’s ok that it doesn’t make sense to you. That’s totally fine. But “disliking” it because it baffles you, especially to my ears such tastefully written piece, is odd. Taste, however, is a completely different point. Not liking something is fine. You don’t even need a reason. Your reason just seems flawed.
