As the composer, I can only say how utterly gratifying it is to hear a performance such as this! There is a magical perfection in the technical achievement, but more importantly there is an understanding of the atmosphere I wished to create in each piece. Listening to them here brought them alive for me all over again. Thank you Jisu Jung and Vic Firth.

You really have a uniquely idiomatic style of writing for the marimba, Peter. I particularly liked the last study with its shimmering background with fragments of plangent chant emerging from it.

Very reminiscent of the Musser Etudes. After these many years, what a wonderful addition to the marimba repertoire. We have not had an addition of interesting textures with contemporary implementations in many years. Bravo to Mr. Klatzow for sharing his viewpoints of marimba composition. In addition, many kudos to Ms. Jung for her commanding performance of these musical episodes.
