That's true for all potatoes. Their micronutrients come almost exclusively from the soil they spend their lives in. When you peel them, you have empty calories. But who reaches for potato chips when they want nutritious food? That's daft.
@ImmortalReaver24 күн бұрын
You're not supposed to eat potato chips for nutrition. They're just for a treat.
@thardyryll23 күн бұрын
@@ImmortalReaverSeriously? Rats. Been treating them as a main course all these years. Guess I’ll have to substitute something nutritious, like doughnuts.
@beenaplumber837923 күн бұрын
@ Rat meat is far more nutritious than potato chips, or even peeled potatoes (depending on what toxins they've been living in). There is a place in Southeast Asia (maybe Thailand - not sure) where rats are barbecued on a stick and sold as a very expensive delicacy. (I assume they are farm-raised.) The final product actually looked disturbingly good to me! The nutrients in meat come from the metabolic processes of the animal. The nutrients in tubers like potatoes come from the soil they're grown in.

As we get older our taste buds don't work as well, they get worn down and your sense of taste dulls. Perhaps you are simply remembering what they tasted like when you were younger and your taste buds worked better? I used to love pringles as a kid but as an adult they do seem fairly bland to me. I wouldn't put it past them to use less seasoning to cut costs though.

The Pringles in Australia have suffered so badly from shrinkflation that I no longer buy them. They are now 134 grams as opposed to the US and Europe where they are 155 grams. Probably a good thing as they are so over processed and there are many healthier options for chips.
