Mr.Arun Shourie Can you please ascertain from RBI Why India's Capital expenditure was 587 USD for the period 1/04/2004 to 31/03/2014 that too from China. What are the capital goods bought during that period.Why the then govt didn't encourage manufacturing of capital goods when it had the capibality to launch 104 satellite at a time.Why did country continue to import Tatra trucks since 1985 when there there was a specific clause indigenisation over a period of time.

Mr.Shourie talked up the Modi government until after the national elections in 2014 while he was part of the BJP praising Modi at every possible interview and now calls the situation a sad reality as if back in 2014, all parties weren't busy fooling that 31% for three weeks.

In 2014, only Modi spent 10K crores on ads every 5 mins on every TV channel. Can't do anything about Rs 30K crore power tariff scam reported by the DRI coz the cronies are involved, but Rs 48 crore case of settled debt payment is very important for them because it does not involve the cronies. Mr. Shourie is clearly very frustrated with Mr. Modi. One could agree with some of his points, although he vastly exaggerates the problems. But he lost me when he heaps the problems re the quality of judges and civil servants on Mr. Modi as well. That is disingenuous! Clearly, his personal bad relations with the prime minister shape his commentary. That is sad!!

Look at what happened to Sanjiv Chaturvedi after winning the Ramon Magsaysay Award, and look at what happened to Ashok Khemka. Look at how Delhi PS was hounded by the CBI so much so that no IAS officer wants to work under the Delhi government now for fear of persecution by the CBI and other caged parrots. what arun Shourie seems to overlook is that country has seen highest amounts of foreign investments compared to the past. Its true that we still are lacking some key reforms like land acquisition bill and labour reforms, but you need to do an honest past vs. present analysis.

This was on the economic front, on the social front we are lacking key reforms like UCC. But we must do a comparative study before making the right choice.

Foreign investments is very small percentage of total investments but the total investments are drastically down. You should know that. Modi's hundreds of crores spent on travel come to nothing when he can't even get anything for IT sector in India which is facing layoffs. Land acquisition bill was defeated, never passed. The real law is the one implemented by UPA. So much for the "key reforms". Evidently bhakts do not have much concern about their country that they make so poor commentary on the achievements of the illiterate.

What about Kirti Azad and Ram Jethmalani? The fact is that bhakts do not care anything about what anybody except 2-3 people in the top of this govt say. For not listening to everybody else, there is one excuse or the other. Due to this, slowly but surely, agitations are building up, first in Gujarat and Haryana, now in MP, and riots in UP and Haryana--all the BJP--"governed" states.

Instead of simplifying things to their basic instincts of 'jealousy' or 'anger', why don't you learn something by listening to someone you don't disagree with? Is it because he is 'jealous' that he talked about the GFCF level? Is it jealousy or truth that jobs are lower now than in the UPA period? Is it jealousy that unemployment is on the rise and 'entrepreneurship' is not the great solution since the NPA level is unprecedented so that even established businessmen cannot obtain capital? The loans were certainly given out in the UPA government, but this government has done absolutely nothing despite being warned about it. That is what a journalist does. They criticise and inform. If the journalists were the one who needed to provide a solution, then why do we have a government?

there is no doubt that the fears these people have discussed are true.Its not about carrying a prejudice against mr. modi but its all about showing the sides which are not unveiled by mass media . Media is all about taking the fears and issues in the country well before the govt could anticipate itself.Rather than showing all the time in the channels "the modi bhakti" ,the media houses must learn from madhu Tehran. Media must be eyes and ears of the nation and it must show true picture of it. Govt must follow up on problems that media conveys to it ..
