I heard this episode weeks ago (via iTunes download) but I wanted to come back and comment here at the part around 10:15 in this video where Kathleen starts talking about writing jokes in a notebook -- and of course I wanted to see the notebooks in this video. (When I first heard it, of course it reminded me of Mitch Hedberg saying this: “I write jokes for a living. I sit at my hotel at night, I think of something that's funny, then I go get a pen and I write it down. Or if the pen is too far away, I have to convince myself that what I thought of ain't funny.” I bet Kathleen's notebooks will be collector's items someday. :) In a museum, sold by an auction house, something like that. :)

In response to the Culvers piece: Keurig owns Dr. Pepper; neither Pepsi nor Coca-Cola owns it. There is a Dr. Pepper museum in Texas; fascinating history. And I still have not forgiven Costco for switching from Coke to Pepsi in their food concession area. I brink my own drinks in a bottle in my purse to movies. As a diabetic, I am not purchasing soda or overpriced water. As you said, I have already purchased something (ticket).

My paternal grandfather, born 1915 and long gone, was like her dad about eating food. He wouldn't even eat spaghetti. He didn't like that I-talian food. LOL Eating my mom's bland chili was as exotic as he'd go. He had to have bean and potatoes of any kind with every meal and nothing else matter as long is it was American. LOL So sad. He missed out on a lot food he would have really enjoyed. I look at my nephew who basically only eats chips, fries and chicken nuggets and think how spoiled kids like him are nowadays think of it as a modern issue with so many picky eaters, but nope, old men do it too.

I’ve seen several people comment about this issue on different message boards, so here’s my unsolicited 2 cents. Paddles is the person at the comedy show I hate sitting next to. Constantly talking throughout the show as if the she’s having a conversation with the comedian. Plus, she has no microphone, so it sounds like she is projecting from the back & interrupting the talent on stage. Combined with the outbursts of laughter & other random noises / comments, it’s all very distracting & often jarring. I really love this podcast and the improvised feeling it has…very fast, loose, casual, & hilarious!! I think paddles is great & adds to the show in a positive way. Make her a part of the show & work on having a dialogue, because this yelling from across the bar stuff isn’t working. If paddles wants to be part of the show, then she needs to use a microphone.
