I am a jazz and R&B singer, saxophone player, vocal coach, and music teacher. this is my reaction to Madison Beer singing Selfish live on Vevo lift. I enjoyed this performance and am more than happy to share my knowledge on singing and to pick apart the lovely details!

her voice actually has a slight yodel/fast vibrato to it and she said producers she used to work with when she was a teenager told her to stop doing that cause it was annoying and i remember people making fun of her saying she sounded like a goat back in 2014 so she stopped doing that for a while and eventually decided to use it again in her recent music cause that’s how her voice is. if you watch videos of her singing at 12/13 you can hear her vibrato is already there. and now that fast vibrato is what differentiates her from other pop singers alongside her rich deep and dark tones imo

TBH, I never heard of this performer and this song. However, your reaction (good/bad) was so detailed and honest, that it will make me look into her. It is great that I always learn a bit more about singers, songs, and performances by watching your videos. I can tell you are stressed (school/life?), but even then your passion still shines through.

Your description of "live" at the start makes no sense to me, if you think it's pre-recorded and then lipsynced to for the video isn't that the definition of not live.
