bullying a child is disgraceful.

Man that's so sad. People shouldn't bring this up when it comes to kids. Some kids are a little fat, and that's fine. Unless they have health issues and are obese, I think they'll survive. That shit isn't in their control until they get older

I completely agree! When I was a kid I was quite chubby, it really got to me and I ended up with body dysmorphia which became severely worse over time (still have it) and it lead me to gain so much weight to the point where I’m actually fat now (when I say fat I use that as a descriptive word and not out of self hate), if I never thought it was “too big” to begin with I probably would never have actually gotten to the size I am now!

I always feel so bad for actors who play the “fat” character in kids’ TV shows. Those shows made me as an audience member feel ashamed about my weight; I can’t imagine being the actual actor!

I love Eva Longoria. She always seemed like such a really nice person and this is just the cherry on top kids remember things and I'm so glad that Eva tried to always build her up.

My grandma fatshamed me. Now, she stopped cause I got thinner, but I constantly hear her comments towards my younger cousin (6) about her weight. Every single time I hear the worst possible words coming out of my grandma's mouth I know that I can't do anything, and something dies in me.

I love my grandma so so much but she made a lot of fatshaming comments on me and my sister and eventhough I’m close with her I don’t hesitate to speak my mind and speak back because we shouldn’t have to be shamed by family . It’s hard because they never seems to learn but I think I can see a little bit of progress ..it’s so hard to have a family who compare you to their weigh when they were your age…

this is so sad. children should be outside living the life, not reading hate comments from nasty people. she should know that she’s gorgeous just the way she is and she doesn’t need to change a thing ❤

Why would her parents ever willingly put her into this situation? Literally they had her on a tv show where the whole point of her character was that she was the opposite of a beautiful supermodel. That’s just vile.
@aria2aria26 ай бұрын
It may have something to do with her mother. Demi Lovato was a child star at a young age as well and relapsed with an eating disorder while starved by her management under Disney.

@@skittlegxng i’m not at all saying madison should have. it’s a very tragic situation, but i dont think her mother knew how genetic predisposition + exposure to the media make someone more likely to develop an eating disorder. it clearly runs in demi and madison’s family, so she would’ve gotten one from multiple different environments. for demi, it was her management.

I worried about her because in the show it was all about her being overweight with a supermodel mom and I’m thinking of the damage it could do and apparently has done. Hope she’s ok now

Didn't her mother (Demi's mother) had an eating disorder as well? Do these things run in families like addiction and alcoholism do? /gen
@icanhearthebells1317 Жыл бұрын
There's actually a researcher prof. Gabor matè who was discussing this in a podcast and he said that these things aren't genetic but are passed onto children if the suffering parents create the same environment for the child to pick up these traumatic habits to cope with the stress and trauma
@BettyB00p762 Жыл бұрын
Yes my mum did exactly that to me, from an eating disorder herself to putting her 10 yo daughter on a diet when she wasn’t even fat lol
@calicoathena Жыл бұрын
There's studies (I would link but youtube is so iffy about links. Google predisposition eating disorders to find the info) that suggests it is very similar to the way alcoholism can run in families. You have a higher potential of developing it if people in your family have had it too.
@simpl3xity Жыл бұрын
Yes and she still pushed madison into an acting gig in which her appearance was a running gag on a tv show. Madison may have been more predisposed to developing an ED but she was fated to develop one after being cast as Juanita
@pixi3d3ath4710 ай бұрын
a lot of these run in families, but it can also be the fact that ppl who have kids while having eating disorders can inadvertently or purposely have children mimic their behaviors and develop EDs themselves. mental illness and other mental issues were also a huge component in demi’s family, so it’s a shame it was only more than one child so severely affected by the industry.

I feel so bad, I figured out I have AFRID (Avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder) and I hate it, I won’t eat and I know it’s because of my depression and anxiety, I feel so bad since she got it at 7 (btw mine is self diagnosed and I can tell it’s true) she didn’t deserve the hate, bless her heart.

@baddieMario7710 күн бұрын
I was actually expecting you to say that the show alone caused her to feel that way, because when i watched desperate housewives i was in SHOCK that they made a kid play that role because they were constantly making it seem like she ate too much and as you said, the entire point of her character was that she was supposed to be the opposite of her beautiful thin mom. Kids are smarter than people give them credit for and im SURE she was able to pick up what they were implying and that in itself is terrible enough, i cant even imagine how much worse it would be to be seeing the comments about her weight from people on the internet. Poor kid, her parents shouldnt have allowed her to take a role that is all about making fun of her appearance but the internet comments arent even their fault, thats simply just people being fatphobic as per usual 😐

I mean, the kid did actually need to lose weight. But that's not the way that the people online should have approached it.
