I thought the little notes about "Mommy doesn't want to play" and "Blue Knees says I have pretty eyes" were clues to a big twist, that the entire murder spree was masterminded by the MC's father, Johnny, who's been under control of the book / Blue Knees / the demon since he was a child. There are other clues, like the grandma's diary mentions her ring being repeatedly stolen and found in Johnny's room, and the fact that the last picture isn't his father's severed head but a command to kill himself; with Luca as the seventh victim, Blue Knees (the demon) can freely take over Johnny's body.

I think Madison is just using blue knees as a tool to further infiltrate the minds and lives of her victims as he is already disturbing and has created fears in John and unease in the rest of the family. Madison is all about using what is available to her to get what she wants.

Don't worry Gab, I also lost the storyline partway through. Its very cool and scary, but the timeline jumps around quite a bit, and there are A LOT of people to keep track of. I'm honestly glad that this is a long indie horror game. Most would end in half the time, but the downside is it made the story more complex.

I’m going to assume that Blue Knees (Madison Hale, the Witch) used the nursery rhyme as a conduit to instill fear in Luca’s family and take possession over Luca to complete her ritual. Luca’s family lives inside of Madison’s old home and when Albert brought home the creepy book, he must’ve read a ritual that awakened Madison. I’m following the typical “demonic possession” movie script. This game reminded me of The Conjuring 2.

Yes. the only thing is blue knees is separate from Madison hale. Blue knees is the demon that existed first and madison was trying to do the body exchange ritual so she could give him her body because she was a crazy serial killer witch. But she couldn't finish because the cop killed her body/made it an unacceptable host. So at the end it's unclear if Madison took over Lucas body or blue knees did. But either way Lucas soul is gone. He died. Whatever awakened was Madison or blue knees.

Luca was not the seventh person killed he was the needed body for Madison. Madison killed four people before police caught and killed her. Luca killed his Mother, Father and sister. Not many people picked up on the Hans Goring Germany reference in 1951 and why his spirit chases you wearing a gas mask.

I think one thing that a lot of people don't understand about grief is that it never goes away, even if you have a loving memorial and go through the process of grief you will still always think about your loved one. Okay, weird side note, but the stock sound for the camera is the exact same sound that Her Interactive used for the card readers for the games in the temple in Nancy Drew: Secret of the Scarlet Hand. I've watched back and forth a few times to understand the story. . . This is the explanation what I understand: In order to perform body exchange ritual, needs : - 7 sacrifices >> 7 mutilated body (kill 7 people) - sentimental object >> Elizabeth's wedding ring - human ashes (Madison ashes?) - two bodies as host and guest Madison had already killed 4 people before finally being killed by the police. Her spirit attached to her camera, which unlucky bought by John as a birthday present to Luca. So Luca possesed by Madison and killed her mother & sister. Luca only has 2 photos of his sister & mother's mutilated bodies, meaning his father (John) hasn't been killed. John locks Luca in a room in the beginning of the game, but then Luca travel into his grandfather's (Albert) house through the closet. I believe this house is also in another dimension, because there's no way out from inside the building. The house itself haunted by Blue Knees Demon, which is attached to the book that Albert bought in garage sale, as a gift to John. So there are 2 entities here : Madison & Blue Knees. How John & Albert survived the Blue Knees Demon, well I think they both moved house after Elizabeth's death, although this wasn't told in the game. The game itself is the story of how Luca, in his conscious state, seeks and finds clues as to what really happened to him. In the end, Luca had no choice... After being badly injured by the Blue Knees Demon and unable to escape anywhere, he had to hang himself, resulting in a broken neck (Luca's head for the 7th sacrifices). But because Luca's head and body are not separated, Madison takes over Luca's body, heals & comes back to life. (Madison's skull as host & Luca's body as guest)
