Digging pull tabs and bottle tops is part of the game even if I see any of them sun baking I pick them up, helps keep the beaches and parks clean, and is good Karma

I had to watch it again, I was having sound problems on this end, it was even better with sound ("Beavertail"😆) Lesson #1, you have to dig the trash to get the treasure. Thank you Ritchie💖

I do have a Garret AT Pro metal detector and it is set on Pro Coin Mode. I have found out that the signals on it for pull tabs, nickels and gold rings do come up the same ( between 48-52 ). So if you do have a signal like it, you know the saying " When if doubt dig it out ". I did find a 10K white gold ring 2 months ago and when it showed up on my screen, it came out a 48 signal. Platinum will come out almost the same way too!

😆I didn't hear a word you said, and I still watched it, I'm turning into a groupie lol. Very impressive finds Ritchie💖

Hey neighbor (I'm from Bingham) nice video. Ordering my AT Pro tomorrow. Spend a lot of time on the beaches in Florida during the winter, but can't wait to get home to go over some of the places I've been with my old detector! It will be fun and interesting!!

So, how did the AT Pro work out? Still using it?
@robinworkman36213 жыл бұрын
It's funny that the trash sound almost just like the real deal. Can you turn on iron audio to narrow that down or does that just eliminate iron?
@MadisonMainedetecting3 жыл бұрын
It might tip you off if the signal is erratic enough to drop down into the iron VDI (

Is that a young Ritchie?

It would be nice if there was a detector that could distinguish gold from aluminum trash and foil but the technology is not there yet. Maybe someday. For now just dig it all especially if you're at the beach or lake.

Thanks Madison Maine! It certainly does make a distinct tone that is noticeably different. I ran my wedding ring across it to get the "tone" :)

Hey Madison, do you have any white gold samples or know where it rings on the at?
@MadisonMainedetecting10 жыл бұрын
A very good question my friend. I have dug a white gold ring and if memory serves me it rang just like yellow gold. That would mean in the range of high 40's to mid 60's depending on size. A honker will ring up and a thin band will be in the 40's.
@odinp10 жыл бұрын
Cheers mate, one other question, are they usually a clear crisp sound or do you get mixed tones when they are in the dirt?

I think I must be the very lucky one. on the first day at my backyard I found a 14 k ring. same day in the evening at the beach I found loose change . but I agree with your point, it takes a lot of digging.

I also use the GARRETT SEA HUNTER. You will dig almost everything, but if you are a water hunter you will love ANY PI DETECTOR

Madison, I view this video about once a month just for a sanity check. I have the ATPRO as well as the Whites MXT. Both good machines. Haven't found a gold ring in over 6 months but have found a few silvers. Still diggin them pulltabs. LOL
@MadisonMainedetecting11 жыл бұрын
Keep digging them pulltabs and one time when you least expect it then it will be gold.

You are right indeed. I may go after more jewelry in 2015 as I usually hit the old cellar holes and corn fields looking for older relics. GL&HH

Hey Madison, excellent video. Good stuff as always. I find your videos to be spot on. How do you do with the AT pro on a wet salt sand highly mineralized beach in Maine? I think that would be useful to all of us in New England and other ferrous soils and with hot rocks.
@MadisonMainedetecting10 жыл бұрын
I have been able to run the AT Pro at the salt beaches pretty well. I have heard of others not having luck with the AT Pro at the beach. It is not a dedicated salt water machine but you can take it there if it is what you have like me. GL&HH
@hawkrock135610 жыл бұрын
***** I use my ATP at the beach effectively all the time BUT it has been a dry sand machine for me. You definitely should do a video in the WET SALT Sand in a Mineralised beach with ferrous sand. I would very much appreciate seeing your settings successfully working in that condition. White sandy beaches it is easy. Black sandy Wet beaches are something of another challenge. Garrett should pay you to do this Madison. Thanks for listening...Again I appreciate what you do.
@MadisonMainedetecting10 жыл бұрын
I don't know if Garrett would pay me for that but, I did do a salt water hunt earlier in the year using two machines called How to Metal Detect Maine in March. The only settings I change are my GB which you need to keep changing as you go from wet to dry sand.
@hawkrock135610 жыл бұрын
***** Because I live on the coast south of you and we have heavy mineralization at times of beach erosion (when I really want to dig day and night) I have had to reduce the chatter on the ATPro by the following which is WAY different than the way I run this machine in dry salt sand. Unlike using the Pro mode wide open as I usually do, if I want to use this machine in the mineralized conditions I set it uncharacteristically for me in Standard Zero Mode with the Sensitivity usually one bar from the top, Discrimination at 10-12 (uncharacteristically) and Manually GB adjusted down approximately 16 notches from what it auto reads. This has been the only way I have gotten the ATpro to work for me in the mineralized conditions I find frequently here. Do you have any other suggestions?
@MadisonMainedetecting10 жыл бұрын
Hawk Rock I have seen some have trouble with auto GBing the AT Pro in such situations. I know when I am in salt conditions my auto GB will go all the way down into the single digits on its own. Sometimes it does not want to auto GB back up to normal conditions and I do it manually. A little iron disc should not hurt you. I usually run mine up to 25 to 32 in most places so I can quickly use the iron audio feature. The last time I went to the beach was my "Metal Detecting Maine in March" video I get out the AT Pro later in the video.

Omg now my head is spinning I need to buy a metal detector for my daddy to ship it over seas to Brasil he has been asking for one for a long time now I don't know what to buy its so many different ones how deep does this one finds metal?
@MadisonMainedetecting10 жыл бұрын
mari82441 You could ask him what he would like for a detector.
@jamesshairjourney771810 жыл бұрын
would discriminate better if you raised the iron descrimination to around 35 and you would still find the gold :)

some places yes. If there are a lot of iron nails in the ground no. Have a look at me tips and settings update video. GL&HH
