Supa Retron HD Unboxing & Review Hyperkin HDMI Super Nintendo

I know I'm 2 years late to the party on this one, but I wanted to put my 2 cents on this. I've heard my fair share of stories regarding negative experiences with Hyperkin's hardware, but I've honestly never had much bad luck with it. I own the Retron HD, SupaRetron HD, and MegaRetron HD consoles and I've seriously been well pleased with all of them. Maybe it's my TV, maybe it's my particular set of HDMI hookups. I don't know. But I've never had any trouble with picture or sound quality like what I've seen in some reviews. I have discovered that the issue may lie in the console's included HDMI cable. I ran mine through one of my premium cables (as I do with all of my Hyperkin hardware) and had no issues whatsoever with any of my SNES cartridges. There's also a possibility that my mileage on it varied because I got the 'Space Black' edition which came out 2 years after the original and could possibly be an updated product. The one and only time I ever had any video/audio issues was when I ran my Super Gameboy cartridge on it. Of course, though, being Gameboy hardware, one would expect a dip in quality.

It looks to be the Retron HD and Supa Retron HD, but combined into a single box. I wonder if it will have the same issues (motion blur, over-saturated colors and startup logo on SNES, inaccurate sound and colors on NES).

Hey man have you tried the pound challenger snes hdmi clone?? I really like your clone console vid reviews you do. You should grab a pound challenger snes clone and review/compare it!!!! Also in regards to the super retro trio plus that won the competition between the 3 u did in the one video... does the retro trio plus have a loud snes output? And is the nes side audio way off as other nes clones are?

soooo, when i turn my supa-retron on, it flashes the logo, but it never loads the game. any tips? also im using japanese cartridges, but i dont know if thats the issue

Clean fue cartdrige pins, hyperkin sysyems are super sensible to dirt

I have it next to my ps 4 running on the same HDMI cable and using a Micro USB cable for a old Samsung phone or... Same thing to charge the PS 4 controller with. So works GREAT!!

Ive not noticed myself to be honest, but others have said it does have very minimal lag, thats lower then most other options out there. But in all honesty if there is any its not noticeable by me.

To me the colors are too bold and sometimes there is a lack of detail. But for a casual gamers it seems to be an ok system.

Ive been lookin at this more, and it is oversaturated it seems. I lowered my brightness by 15 points to see if that was the deal and it regains a lot of the lost details when I do so. Casual gamers or people who havent played these games in years won't notice but by altering some setting on your TV or as I am doing now through my pc to my tv im getting closer to expected results.

CSIG1001 Yeah that would of been awesome. But really i just think these systems are the typical SNES on a chip boards that is using a cheap hdmi converter. So nothing really proprietary to where it could be updateable or use special features. Its be nice for sure though.

hey pixel question are you familiar with nes game repairs ...my copy of ultima quest for the avatar is wonky it loads to the title/ press start screen but as soon i press start it starts resetting and wont stop untill i turn the machine off or press reset..

Love mine have a multicart. It works for playing Terranigma, and a bunch of other stuff. Have a good variety of my games two copies of Tommy Moe's Extreme Skiing and Snowboarding works perfectly fine on original console.... I can't get it at all to play on my suparetron gets a bit BLUE bar on half the lower screen load it to the menu amd start the course and the ground it's Dark blue only see the sky your rider and the humps of snow and obstacles to get around.. ?? Only game I have a problem with.. I literally bought a second copy after I got the retro thinking my cartridge was faulty or broken.. Has anyone had this problem with THIS game Specifically? Weird no problem with super Gameboy games everything looks and works and plays like a regular SnES to me. Just this one game? Hmm

I don't get how these third partie companies make imitation Super Nintendo and don't get a fat lawsuit by Nintendo? So could I invent my own Nintendo switch and sell it?

Patents are up on some of these old consoles, so making clones of them are not illegal. Now there was a time people were making illegal clones, but pretty much anything SNES down you can make a clone console without legal issue as long as you are not infringing on copyright, like using the same exact design etc. Making your own clone Nintendo Switch, now that sounds cool... but obviously legally Nintendo would go after you haha.

Yes you can make a clone SNES right now and sell it for hundreds if it is good enough. Only thing is the design had to be your own, the name brand had to be your own and the technology inside had to be your own or at least you must had rights to it. If you took tech from Hamy, Hyperkin, Yobo, Retro-Bit, Classiq, or Gamerz Tek's own unit and put it inside your own then sell it as your own, you could still be sued by any one of them.
