Cool mod and tutorial, but these are a bit pricey, $35 ea for the adapters, then you need the controllers... I picked up the my arcade wireless controller for the snes classic mini at Target, they’re $19.99 and work very well! Check them out. But again, this is a cool mod! Thanks for doing what you do!

Does this work with the analog sticks and R2 + L2 buttons? I know the 8bitdo receivers require a certain firmware to make those buttons work.

mount the board on the heat sync? hm...
@murenorocha4 жыл бұрын
I've tried that with two 8bitdo 2.4ghz receivers and noticed the heatsink, which is just below them, gets a bit hotter than I expected. Then I undone that, since something tells me it would damage them in the long run. The heatsink is that big for a reason.

Hey Bud. Thanks for the video I didn’t know this chip existed. I have an important question if ya got the time to answer. I have a pro controller as well. I have the SF30 Pro. While using the 8bitdo wireless receiver with my pro there is slight lag. They are both fully updated and I am using game mode which helps but in platformers it’s really noticeable. My question is this. Does this Nincade chip provide better response time than the 8bitdo receiver? If so I want this chip right away because the no dongle setup is def a plus. Thanks in advance.
@Madlittlepixel7 жыл бұрын
David Taylor I personally feel like the input lag is better with the Nincade. There is a firmware update on the brooks website that may need to be done on the nincade depending on if its a newer or older shipment. But ive not gona back to using the retro receivers after installing 2 of these. Works great and you can still use original controllers in the ports if ya want. Looks cleaner too without dongles hanging out lol.
@davidtaylor4977 жыл бұрын
Madlittlepixel thanks so much for the quick response buddy! 1 more question! Let’s say I install this chip. When I have my pro connected wirelessly to port 1, is port 2 still fully functional with an official wired controller or the SF30 2.4ghz? Cuz I got one of those too.
@mitsuk14067 жыл бұрын
i believe ur SF30 Pro when using 8bitdo wireless receiver is in android mode. but with nincade, SF30 Pro is set to switch mode....response time might better than the 8bitdo receiver

TheMasonGamer And ParkerPro if you look on the right side of the board thats the connection for the second one. Each controller port has a plug on the board. Player 2 is middle right long side of board instead of front middle like the firat player.

Hello, i just installed nincade in my Snes classic as well, but im running the older SF30 controller, not the pro. Have you tried syncing that controller (if you own it) to the nincade and succeed? Ive tried all the combinations i can find in the manual, but either it doesnt work, or im doing something wrong. I have updated the firmware of both the nincade and the controller respectively to the latest firmware available. Perhaps you have some ideas?

So if we connect 2 wireless, and then connect the wired ones. Is it four player?
@Madlittlepixel7 жыл бұрын
Negative. You only have access to 2 players. If the controllers are connected wired those act like p1 and p2, same as the bluetooth controllers, just player 1 and player 2.

You can get the 8bitdo retro receiver for like £13 and does the same thing except its a dongle you plug in, surely that could be modded to go inside the system.
@Lang77 жыл бұрын
Link SSZ It can but you have to remove one of the ports from the front. Because the dongles are designed to connect through the controller ports, to put everything inside you have to move the controller connector inside the system too. This board eliminates that problem and leaves you with two functional controller ports on the front.

I'm sure they are great devices and all but they are FAR too expensive. I'll never buy one at that price. I'm not poor by most measures, but I do require some value. For me, the 8bitdo controllers themselves are the way to go. And if I were going to disassemble my unit to install something, I'd just as soon disassemble the 8bitdo dongle to install it. It's easy to imagine doing. I'd probably extend the pairing buttons as well as the LEDs (super easy to do) and end up with something FAR better and far easier to work with. The one advantage with this device is the continued ability to use the controller ports but no one is suggesting they can have up to four players this way, so it just represents auxiliary port access... NOT worth it in terms of value.
@toasterboy7087 жыл бұрын
Stop your whinging. Not everything in the world is priced to make you happy. By the time you buy the dongles, the NinCade only costs a few bucks more to have it all hidden, tucked away, neat and tidy. Well worth the extra few quid.
@erroneus007 жыл бұрын
Nonesense. I get the 8bitdo dongles for around $12 that last time I bought some. I got two of them for less than a single one of these things which apparently limit the way you can use buttons. It's impractical, non-portable and two of them is as expensive as an SNES unit itself.
