Why there is no iron overload syndrome in Acute Intermittent Porphyria ? But in Porohyria Cutanea Tarda ?

in PCT, porphyrins are as well deposited in the liver causing liver damage. as its well known that iron is stored in the liver, a dysfunctional liver can lead to disruption in iron metabolism leading to iron retention which exacerbates iron accumulation. i came across your comment and i felt a need to answer, even though its been a year now and probably you have got a response already😁😁
