Trebuchet's rely on a counterweight to launch the projectile, while Catapults use tension in the crossbeam and rope holding the arm (where you put projectile) down.

I take inspiration from both of them. I use Madness's medieval roofs and wall randomization and Jamziboyminecraft's organic techniques.

You should make a bandit camp, which I think would go along great with your siege weapons. It would be like the bandits use the weapons to try and sack Kargeth (hint: they wont)

Guys, the differences between a Catapult and Trebuchet are quite large: Catapults use tension and rope to launch and object, and tend to be smaller and more maneuverable than their French cousins. Trebuchets use counterweights and gravity, and tend to be larger, but also have a greater range.

hey madnes sorry to point this out but the "arm" was already touching the ground on the opposite end of the basket so it wouldn't need a stopping thing on the main beam.

Madness64, i have something i want to say. The mobile catapult looks far too weak. The base would give when you tried to wind it up. Also, the fastening piont of the trowing arm LOOKS cool, but it seem very imobile. Real catapults were fastened in rope wich again was fastened on the two sides. The catapults you made in this video are fastened with stone and that seems kinda silly when you think about it.
