That was a great watch. Hats off to the owner for having the balls to go that far with that car and getting to experience it on there with Misha driving. When i did a taxi lap in the GT2 rs with Moritz a couple of years back it was doing just over 170mph through that section so good going. Good to see you're doing well Misha👍

It was his oil temps. Everytime it hit 127 degrees it went into limp mode. Increase the temperature threshold

Needs an oil cooler or a bigger one if it already has one. Pretty standard issue on tuned road cars on the track. I wouldn't want to change the threshold has it'll put the oil out of spec leading to it thinning out and potentially resulting in premature bearing failure.

It became a bit of a car culture meme here when people started posting videos of drag racing in "Mexico" with very obvious American highway signs and cities flying by in the recordings, very surprised to hear it has drifted overseas! 😄

TDI? I don't think anyone thought it was too much, but diesels just have way more torque for lower power numbers and are more prone to torque steering.

For those of you, like me, who had never heard of Cupra before and were interested in this car but frustrated that there's no details given in the video or the description, I did a little research and this appears to be a 2014 or 2015 León Cupra 280 with the optional Sub8 Performance pack made by SEAT. That should be enough info for you to get anything else you want to know out of Google. Great video. Loved the poor owner's face during the drive. He was clearly (and rightly) terrified at some parts of the ride but fighting hard to not let it show. I hope he goes through with the Haldex conversion and gets his few remaining bugs worked out as I think that would make this car an absolute ring beast. 👍

@@JerainJezza why don't you think so? There are guys all over the world putting down 550+ at the wheels on these engines in various MQB cars. 620bhp is entirely possible if built correctly. 500whp450wtq is seen as the limit by most tuners for the stock bottom end. These gen 3 engines rip.

I've only got the pd160 version but I don't think many people realise just how planted they feel when going around corners, well before you add another 500 bhp to them anyway, there's probably a reason there's less than 130 left on the road in the UK. I’m running the big daddy DQ500 7 speed RS3 DSG box in my golf MK6 R that’s been built & now near on finished,fully forged top n bottom but will only be running about 570hp and 550ft/lb iv gone for a more street racer turbo so it starts boosting around 3.5 RPM

Oil pressure switch became faulty both times at 127°C. Seems to me like that temperature affects oil pressure and then you get warning. Also seems like you should have done your service prior to race event.(oil service interval 500miles notification)

This is a crazy car but it isn't a 'ricer' car as someone commented below! This is a semi sleeper car, not fitted with ridiculous fake spoilers or anything stupid. Although I think Loran has more money than sense, it's a great example of what a fwd can do when as someone else said, 15 years ago a focus st was considered too fast with the level of torque steer generated.
