I really like this animation for the way the protagonist - an A.T.P. Engineer - was handled. Demonstrated proficiency in combat, quickly cycling through weapons on the ground to keep the upper hand. Knows when to dodge and when to take cover. Still misses shots. Uses the Bang & Clear tactic to deal with a room of enemies stacked up against them. Not invincible. Still being hit (Good attention to detail with the yellow screen flashes instead of red), even when on a roll. At one point, flees from enemies that they cannot currently fight. Ties in with my point of knowing when to dodge and when to take cover. They also know when to retreat or avoid an enemy. All in all, a very good use of a protagonist that still ties in with the foundation traits of an A.T.P. Engineer: Being smart, leading, and perceptive (Although the Engineer doesn't have anyone else to command, since they're alone). People argue that an A.T.P. Soldat would have made it out, but would he really? Would he have known to get in cover or retreat when the going got tough? Would he have had the insight to both take the flashbang AND throw it into the room full of enemies, before attacking? Their combat intelligence is focused on aggression and force, not tactics and technology. Those were some plays that further demonstrates the Engineer's big brain capabilities. I would quip that one or two times, the A.T.P. Engineer's target priority hiccupped. Such as around 2:05, when an SMG-totting enemy entered the room while there were two melee enemies still alive. The Engineer, instead of targeting the gunner immediately, cut down the two melee guys who were still out of melee range, before turning on the gunner. I can maybe give benefit of the doubt, since it's hard to look at every enemy's weapon in the heat of the moment, but it was fortunate that the enemy had sub-optimal combat experience and weren't on a hairline trigger like the Engineer was. It's not much of a quip to focus on, but above all, everything else was really good!

I think the Engineer is made more for maintenance and combat, with the former being more proficient at it, that's why he is often given the tasks of using and maintaining equipment and machinery for their agency while the Soldat is more combat-oriented, that's why the Soldat is far harder to kill than the Engineer but I think (This is mostly a theory.) that if the Soldat was upgraded more by the Engineer and was not snuffed out by Deimos and Sanford, they would have proved themselves more than a hindrance but a threat. But at the same time, I wonder why he was given guard duty, probably because they lack more men to fight and only have to maintain an outpost far outside of Nevada.

@@UnknownOps Engineers and Soldats operate at the same rank. Those with Intellect, Intuition, and Leadership are made into Engineers, meaning they're actually squad leaders in a sense. Those with Aggression, Agility, and Malevolence meanwhile, are made into Soldats, meaning that they're basically the muscle. So while the Soldats are more combat-oriented, the Engineers lead the squad and devise the tactics. The Soldat is simply harder to kill sometimes, because he's more of a pressure enemy than the Engineer is. Then again, Soldats and Engineers are prioritized more often by protagonists. Not always, but very often. So they clearly identify them as the larger threats.

But still i'm puzzled by your logic, there are super humans around us today, but they are do to a natural mutation not engineered by humans. These people have extreme strength, extreme bone density etc. They still look human on the outside (except for that muscly kid he buff af tho he just looks like a really buff human). Why wouldn't someone be able to put something on there face if they were genetically modified? There body shape is no different to that of a normal human, they just have a superior genetic structure than that of a normal human, other than that they are no different in body shape, nor are they deformed.

The Engineers are most likely superhumans. usually only 1 engineers are dispatched per mission and 2 ATP Soldats, that makes them 3 per unit. once they're utilized to their potential as a group, even Hank has problems on dealing with them and as for Sanford and Deimos, they don't have that kind of issue because they work together as a team even without going tactical because the two know what they're doing. for the most part in MC story, ATP soldats are among the most valuable asset ATP have because they are more skilled than the rest and the ATP engineers act as officers. they are less skilled, but they make it up for their great leadership.

Meanwhile, the Soldats are more aggressive, more agile and appear to utilize next to nothing but brute force, basically being more skilled fighters. They make up the brawn of the Agency.
