The 25mm throw is supposed to provide 20% more cut than any other polisher on the market …do you find this to be true? If so, it might be worth the purchase.
@DetailingMadeSimple
@DetailingMadeSimple 2 ай бұрын
I don't know per se as I haven't used it on a thrashed vehicle. In theory that's always been the case the longer throw polishers correct better. You see a huge difference from a 12mm to 15mm and 15mm to 21mm. So I'm sure the extra 4mm plays a big difference as well. Remember also this DA is about 100$ cheaper than the rupes mark 3 as that thing stalls like crazy.
@deel152
@deel152 3 ай бұрын
Shinemate vibrate alot? Incase actually considering one. Maybe even Rupes. So if these vibrate a lot, which other brand would you recommend besides the D.I.Y? What's the weight on this?
@DetailingMadeSimple
@DetailingMadeSimple 3 ай бұрын
Vibration I say rules vibrates because speed 3-4 stalls easily and not enough power. So in turn you are using it on speed 5-6. As DIY on speed 3-4 enough power and barely stalls. Shinemate and maxshine vibrates a lot in my opinion. Feynmach I have heard is very nice and smooth. Top brands besides DIY. The weight I heard is 1-2 ounce more than the Feynmach and that’s because it’s a 25mm with a larger counter weight Feynmach, Shinemate, Maxshine in that order for me.
@btbd2785
@btbd2785 2 ай бұрын
Suggestion,can you make a video comparing Shinemate, Rupes, DiY maxshine. If you have all these DA polishers. So what are the pros and cons. I know you said the 21mm Shinemate and Maxshine vibrate alot, etc? How about the 15mm versions of the Shinemate and maxshine? Or do you not use those? Do you like and use the variable speed trigger that are on the other machines that you use? Also you said it's heavier. even though a couple of ounces isn't alot and it weighs 5.9 pounds , not bad since most are just as heavy.
@DetailingMadeSimple
@DetailingMadeSimple 2 ай бұрын
@@btbd2785 hey BTB. Thank you for the suggestion would be great I’ll probably hit up other detailers see if I can use their polisher of whichever they have to make the comparison. Typically when I order a polisher and like it I end up selling my other one. Example my rupes rotary vs my flex cordless rotary. I enjoyed the rupes rotary over the cordless and I ended up selling the flex rotary practically 30% off. That’s how I cycle through the polishers. Buy if I like sell or give away my other polisher. The weight can also be due to the length of the machine. That’s like holding a stick that’s 2 ft long vs 4ft on the exact end the 4ft one may feel heavier or just a ounce or 2 heavier which is no difference but the length of it makes it seem heavier. A lot of things to compare and contrast.

Thank you Rick 💪. Glad you enjoyed the content and definitely I can tell it cuts a bit more for sure. The same way you can tell off 6mm from 15-21 you can tell a difference here. Even from a 12mm to 15mm there is a significant difference as well

Thanks for posting the video. No soft start and you’re saying it’s smoother than a Rupes? Really? Because with a Rupes it can be held with 1 hand underneath it on speed 6 and there’s no vibration at all in your hand. I’m curious if that polisher can do that at full speed with no effort. Also, it would’ve been nice if you could’ve put it on a scale vs. other polishers because it does look big.
@DetailingMadeSimple
@DetailingMadeSimple 2 ай бұрын
Hey Samuel. Glad you enjoyed the video. Let me clarify a bit what I mean in terms of smoothness for my experience. 3-4 is practically speed 5-6 on the rupes it has that much more toque and power than the rupes. I’ve used it tops speed 5 with one hand the machine is balanced well. Soft start for myself and my wife is not a necessity or a want. That’s more of a user preference. If we are spreading the product no matter the polisher if it has a soft start or not. We spread it on the lowest speed then ramp up to the desired speed. In terms of smoothness for myself it’s more on how it feels on the paint as well. I stated in the video you will get slightly more vibration because it is a 25mm DA. The longer the throw the more vibration you get. This polisher does feel heavier than most. I should get a scale and weight side by side. In terms of the polishers I have now it is slightly heavier than those. Hope some of this clarify my viewpoints 💪

Any contamination on a new vehicle is removed by the dealership. Its called a PDI check in. Every new car goes through one before its placed out on the lot. Its the last QA check. He must not have worked in a Dealership before. Me over 37 years dealing with and working for dealerships.
@DetailingMadeSimple
@DetailingMadeSimple 3 ай бұрын
Absolutely . PDI pre delivery inspection. It's never the best inspection at all!!! Let's be real. Very few dealerships are honest with this. Dealerships add whatever cheap wax or sealant on the vehicle. Do a mediocre job during decontamination. You may be one of the few honest dealing and working with dealerships. I know many dealerships and how they operate.
@cbigruck1
@cbigruck1 3 ай бұрын
@@DetailingMadeSimple It is I did them. Where I worked I got paid flag time it was about 20 a hour for 4 hours which only took 1 hour to do. You still get paid for the full 4 hours no matter what. So if a truck brings brings in 20 cars a week you do the math. Also the chemicals used will remove all the contaminants. So all you have to is wax the car.
@cbigruck1
@cbigruck1 3 ай бұрын
Oh yeah if you can get use to the rotary buffer it can do things the da cant. The truth a DA is for waxes not to polish it just doesn't have the speed to remove whats needed to get that high gloss. You need the RPMs for that. Trust me I know. Try remove wet sand scratches with a DA you will be at for days. Go to a body shop and talk to a old school detailer he will tell you also. For a high gloss finish you need pressure not a lot measured pressure. You need speed also and thats what a rotary will bring you. Oh yeah dont listen to Ivan about a damp pad never buff with a damp pad that will cause a burn.
@DetailingMadeSimple
@DetailingMadeSimple 3 ай бұрын
@@cbigruck1 I am not disagreeing with your hustle or method. Because even if you were the one to touch it. Or use whatever chemical. Chemicals alone don’t remove embedded contaminants always. You may be a honest Detailer that did the job. The same a lot of detailers aren’t honest which is why I did this channel. I’ve denied many fleet work myself from numerous of dealerships. Some dealerships only want to use you once or twice on the lot. Spray shampoo and rinse with DI water and in their dealerships have their own people do a quick hand wash where let’s be real sometimes aren’t careful or the most detailed. Secondly. Some dealerships I’ve been to have a automated car wash!!! With “non scratch brushes” my job as a Detailer is to ensure proper bonding of the coating. No chemical ever truly removes a sealant left behind it needs to be abraded off. Third. Is with those swirls and scratches I’m using a polisher to do 3 quick passes to brighten up the paint and ensure the “protection left behind from the PDI” is removed. That’s all I’m doing here. Unfortunately this vehicle had swirls and scratches left behind. Are you defending all dealership work? Is the question at hand. Just because you’re honest and did well doesn’t mean others or all follow suit. Maybe get to know me and my channel before judging i actually have a video explaining this PDI on how to ceramic coat a brand new car. And how that car was almost flawless. There are different circumstances on all vehicles.

@@cbigruck1 absolutely everything you have said I agree. Maybe take a look at my channel. Everything you have said I’ve discussed and demo before. The rotary gives a very high gloss shine. Everyone has their method. There is no right way to raise a child or take a shower it’s the end result that should be the same. Some maybe longer or shorter. Talking about body shop my friend worked as a painter in his dads body shop. I’ve learned from them as well. Old school lacquer paint yes you wanted heat with a rotary. Clearcoat is thin I’m trying to preserve the paint. I’ve done both and still do both depending on the situation. I can cut and finish with a rotary. I can cut with a da and finish with a rotary or just do a one step with max defect removal and that’s it. Like I said before get to know me and my channel before going rabid. Act like you would in person and not an aggressive arrogant keyboard typer.
