I'm with Evan on this one! The game doesn't end when Donald or Goofy gets knocked out, but it does if Sora hp hits zero. Save the healing items for yourself. Your friends are your power is for story purposes, not gameplay. You don't even have cure yet, those items are precious. Don't waste them on Donald he's just gonna die again anyway.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but not all of them. 358/2 Days and Re:Coded are 3ds. At most, we'll get segments of all the cutscenes. Union Cross has been dead for a few years now, and There's a new game in development but it plays like Pokemon Go. Not to mention they have to go through Birth By Sleep three times. And you would need a crazy amount of dexterity for Melody of Memory. Still, nice of them to go through this.

The mushroom cap heartless respond to the correct magic spell you cast on them based on the actions they perform in telling you what they want you to do to them, getting all the one's they want will reward you an item, but if you use the same spell again of the same performance they do 3 times you get an item BASED on the magic you did to them.

To expand on this with an example: If the White Mushroom is fanning itself, cool it down with a Blizzard. If this was the third correct spell cast, you'll get a Frost Shard. If all three correctly cast spells were Blizzard, you'd get a Frost Shard and a Blizzard Arts, as well as a small chance for a Frost Gem and Mystery Goo. All of which are very good things to get. Each spell has its own accompanying emote from the White Mushroom and element specific rewards. Shivering → cast Fire → get Blaze Shard/Gem and Fire Arts Fanning itself is ice (as stated above) Looking despondent → hit 'em with Thunder → Thunder Shard/Gem/Arts It's worth doing imo

I know getting through Wonderland can be a pain, but i can't help but love it regardless. It's probably just the nostalgia for the movie talking, but it's easily in my top 3 worlds in this game, despite it's flaws. Either way how you feel, the key to getting through this mad world is trying to not get the queen mad, lest you prefer living without a head on your shoulders. Hey, if the Cheshire cat can do it, why couldn't anyone else?

Evan, for the magic: Fire = homing long-range Ice = close-range, basically acts as a shotgun blast Thunder (when you do eventually get it) = mid-range AOE Magic is good, you just need to BE good to use it. Lock-on and dodging are your friends.

Small tip, donald only has spells based on what sora has, so he cant heal at the moment, and you can also go into the customize menu and make changes to goofy and donald thar affects their ai and what they do, it can be helpful to make them better then they usually are

41:55 It actually would be a waste of an item. When Donald and Goofy are knocked out, they only heal to half hp if healed with an item or spell, even if the item *_should_* heal them fully. Better to let them wake up on their own, and _then_ heal them if you've got an item to spare. In this situation, I probably wouldn't spend an item, but I'd use a Tent or Camp if I thought I was facing a boss soon. Being right next door to a save (and heal) point makes the use of an item unnecessary.

Please make sure to check Donald and Goofy's ability lists as well. Also check out their settings to make their AIs work WITH you. (I'd also recommend that since Goofy is a tank, that he be the one to hold most potions.)

Oh right, so about those giant versions of the Shadows that showed up: In this version of the game (Final Mix), every world has a unique enemy that has a chance of showing up in a specific spot. They all have a gimmick to their fight, and if you figure them out (and defeat them properly), you'll get a special item you can only get from them. For example, with these giant Shadows you had to beat them without letting them hit Sora & escape. Lol you don't have to worry about these special enemies if you don't want to, though, especially since some of them are... not beginner-friendly, to say the least

The unique drops from the unique enemies do end up being needed to unlock something late-game, which means I always reach the point of trying to decide whether I can bear to try farming for those drops, or just skip that unlock and finish the story without it.

In the menu in Customize, I think you can edit Donald to cast more defensive spells, so he can heal you and himself more.

By the way, just so you know, this is the sort of game where it's sometimes beneficial to talk to people multiple times until they start repeating themselves. Not necessarily all the time, but sometimes. Some people may even give you a special item or spell or something if you talk to them two or three times in a row.

Tip: you can verrrrrry sliiiiiiightly extend your jump by hitting the attack button in midair. This will come in handy in a future world. There’s a lot of Gummi Ship parts as treasures in this game. Tbh, you can easily clear the game without ever even engaging with the custom Gummi stuff and just use the default ship the whole way, it’s not hard at all. So imo those treasures are kind of a waste unless you sell them. Or if you just really like making your own ship and doing that kinda thing, you do you. So in this game, Sora casts Blizzard like he’s firing a shotgun: a short-range burst of ice. It’s a bit awkward to get used to, and in later games he just shoots an ice ball like a fireball. (In case you haven’t picked up on it yet, KH1 is very different gameplay wise to the rest of the series)

So, yeah, most of the stuff you completed today aside from collecting and presenting the evidence was actually completely optional content. This game actually has TONS of optional content and reasons to revisit worlds later on outside of the main story. A lot of the optional content is well worth the revisit, too. Take that flower that wanted you to shock it or the White Trinity you spotted for example. You won't unlock either of those for a while. It's honestly kind of astounding that so many let's players miss the fact that the stone the flower spit out in that one cutscene is the exact same stone that was blocking the door earlier, cluing you into the fact that you can now go a different way that the game's stiry wouldn't let you go before. One let's player I watched took something like 3-5 episodes for him to notice the unblocked door. He just stayed stuck in Wonderland trying to figure out what to do before someone (I think one of his mods) just eventually told him what he waz missing. But it is still pretty surprising that you still got to where you were supposed to go (the Tea Party Garden) in the most complicated way possible rather than walking through the now-open door.

FYI, the reason Donald doesn't heal you is because his magic is based off of the spells Sora has currently earned. So, for right now, he only has Fire and Blizzard.

Yeah KH1 is confusing sometimes. Don't worry about getting lost, every KH player has been there. The puppies aren't found exactly in order. Platforming tip: you can do a keyblade swing in the air to stall and go just a little bit further. Combat tip: I don't think the game ever tells you this, but you can press Y when locked onto an enemy to have Donald and Goofy charge them, and press Y when not locked onto anything to have them huddle up to Sora. This usually isn't particularly useful, but I think it's neat.

Well, not this version The queen's evidence is the first one to drop after the shuffling I don't know if attacking the queen is possible during the tower destruction. I think something might happen, but I lack any evidence. 27:43 You should have the option to smack the beechqueen The white mushrooms do give rewards if you use spells, better rewards if you use the same spell three times on them. You'll need to come back with Thunder to cover your bases in Wonderland.

Something about Kingdom Hearts 1 that I'd just like to appreciate is it was one of the first action RPG's ever created. While it's obviously pretty easy to take it for granted now, at the time the fact that you could not just battle enemies in turn based combat, but physically fight and attack them was pretty revolutionary. While the game definitely has its shortcomings, considering it was basically the first attempt at taking the turn based combat seen in Final Fantasy games and bringing it into real time combat, I think it did pretty good for what it is.

Ehhh IDK Action RPGs have technically existed since the mid 80s. Dragon Slayer from 1984 is considered by many to be the first Action RPG. Lots of Ys and a few Zelda titles existed between the 80s and 90s as well. Kingdom Hearts is definitely one of the first well known 3D Action RPGs, but they did also exist long before

One PSX game I didn't know about until more recently was Threads of Fate, which was made by Square before they merged and included (according to what I've been told, at least) features that would later be used in Kingdom Hearts. This is the first I've ever heard someone say KH1 was one of the early action RPGS. I'd be more likely to put Ocarina of Time there, especially considering the targeting system that was, at the time, unique.

This is false. They still get the same EXP even if they're sitting on the bench. Its better to take the temporary team members, especially early game.

The temporary team-mates are often more powerful than your usual sidekicks, but having them in the party means you lose the ability to activate Trinity Marks, so it's a trade-off. I usually stick with the Trinity so I don't need to backtrack for the Marks.

47:33 They need to get MP Rage and MP Haste equipped. Haste boosts MP regeneration rate. Rage makes MP regenerate when taking damage. Once Donald is a high enough level, he can almost out-heal damage taken using the MP gained from being smacked in the first place, which is why you'd give him Second Chance (survive a crit with 1hp). Magnet will let them pick up Orbs much more easily, since they don't even try to pick them up on their own. You've gotta lead them to the Orbs, and if you're doing that, you're gonna pick them up yourself (the AI is not smart) Don't worry Evan, while there are some things I feel you need to improve on regarding this game, your item management isn't one of them. _Yet._

Like shes played the game before and Evan hasnt so he should be allowed to play the game however he wants even if he makes mistakes or doesnt heal Donald. Im not saying she cant commentate but she could help if Evan gets stuck. Let him say when he needs help and stuff. Or switch and let her play as she remembers the most… just a thought. The first KH game is not very intuitive and doesnt do a great job guiding the player through the worlds. My suggestion would be to have Ali with a walkthrough open on her phone to give Evan nudges in a direction in case this stuff happens. This way Evan doesnt risk spoilers and yall dont have to wander so much. From what I can remember, Wonderland is the worst one with this stuff, but i recall the same confusion happening at a few of the other worlds as well. They guide the player better in KH2, for sure.

I love alice in Wonderland and Kingdom Hearts, but this world is by far my least favorite one. I don't like lost woods'esq missions.
