later madness are ok are a aging adult I are but the early madness had somethng else -maybe going into a digital studio in the 80s did that -many of the bands in that era has sucky melodies, sucky sound, sucky recordings ,saying yes to some recording company because this is all we got and we know we are the best -( which nobody was -they lied thier ass off and ignored the facts) -the same situation are in the gaming industry now -it allabout graphics ( sound) and not the content in which older games exel but you have to have the lates gameengine to appeal to kids

I first went to Camden Town in 1984 when I became a fan aged 13. It still holds the same excitement for me now as it did then. I grew up on the south side of the Northern line and after discovering the band, my south London roots never seemed to cut the mustard compared to the Holy Trinity of Chalk Farm, Camden Town and Mornington Crescent. Despite my best efforts I never bumped into the band members on their hallowed NW1 turf ( unlike lucky Lee) but it never mattered as in my mind, the tales I gathered would play out as I visited the "nutty" landmarks. This piece is so evocative of those times and strikes such a chord that I cannot express just how happy it makes me feel. I will be at the Roundhouse, just as I have been at Clapham, Hampstead and Central Hall this year. In 1984 I started writing on my pencil case " Be Mad Not Sad" and "Have Guts Be Nuts" I don't have a pencil case any more but I am still a Madness fan. And am likely to be until they put me in the ground. God bless the good ship Madness and all who sail in her - we truly are the chosen ones xxx
