later madness are ok are a aging adult I are but the early madness had somethng else -maybe going into a digital studio in the 80s did that -many of the bands in that era has sucky melodies, sucky sound, sucky recordings ,saying yes to some recording company because this is all we got and we know we are the best -( which nobody was -they lied thier ass off and ignored the facts) -the same situation are in the gaming industry now -it allabout graphics ( sound) and not the content in which older games exel but you have to have the lates gameengine to appeal to kids

I hated Madness when I was in school, because all of my many enemies were into it. But then I grew up and now have an appreciation for the humour. Baggy Trousers is especially good because I seem to remember something about it being at least partly about Sir Thomas Picton school in Haverfordwest, near where I lived in my 20s and early 30s. I'm now a composer in Chelsea.

I'd get a heart attack if I'd be walking past them....funny how Woody and Bedders have hardly changed. Only aged a bit. 40 Year fan who, so far, has been lucky enough to have seen them live in Holland, Germany, Belgium and England. I was able to see the soundcheck in Tivoli Utrecht in the Netherlands in 2017 and then was invited on stage. Suddenly Suggs says 'shouldn't we take a picture'. According to the road manager Jim I was lucky to have them all together (without Chass, who, as we all know had left by then) for the picture. Afterwards I had a chat with Lee and his son backstage and then saw them life with everyone else. I still cheris that evening. As 'Madness Keyboard Lee' says, it's dangerous to see your heroes, but not with Madness. Gentlemen, all of them. Allthough I was 52 at the time, I was in awe to see my childhood muscial heroes, who's music has filled my life. I could hardly say a normal word. Hahahaha

I remember the little bridge over the river and the big mansion or two that have like a western saloon style indoor balcony with like 4 or more diff shops in the corners, you go up a fire escape type stair and then kinda transition through these small shops. Such a classic layout.. Went there with a girlfriend about 10 years ago. One funny thing was being offered 'mushrooms' by some crazy looking Dutch guy. At first I was thinking keen gardener haha.

In Mt Eden NZ, in the 80s, there was this place, with a window on the street, I think it was the front of someone's house. There was a sign that said: 'Past Present and Future - Lodge'. If you peered in, you could just see a table and some chairs, and on the wall, a portrait of the Queen. Must have been some kind of Freemasons thing. Always intrigued me... Just saying. I love a bit of Madness, big Ska fan, in New Zealand. Cheers.

@Compliment Thief I don't know much about Skrewdriver - but were they not just a regular band in their early days? I know they went all right wing / racist / nazi or whatever but they weren't always like that. I'm from Belfast and I have friends from my teenage years who chose a different path to me, but I don't support the paramilitary groups they joined, so Suggs isn't a nazi just because someone he was once friendly with became one. I think The Sun ran this non story back in the early 80's
