You can see from this interview why Johnny Carson was so beloved. Despite the fact that he may not have understood Madonna's fashion choices or her perspective, he still treated her with genuine interest and respect.

@colinmcdonald2499
@colinmcdonald2499 2 жыл бұрын
@@dennis5806 agree. He was epically good at asking direct questions without crossing the line. Of his contemporaries, the later Dick Cavett would rub his junk all over the line, painful to watch late 70's Cavett. It took Conan decades to master his awkward creepy schtick ( it became pretty polished later on) . Leno was only ever a professional talking about cars or maybe cuts of meat. Other than that Leno telegraphed sarcasm or satire like a starving person gobbling down a handful of Slim Jims. Letterman was occasionally funnier than Carson just tiptoeing the line. But sometimes he just sucked, and he respected no lines. I don't know if it was the influence of Coke ( as in blow) and Xanax or what was Letterman's deal sometimes. Carson was consistently, direct, funny, smart and decent....and his voice. His voice was what made him the GOAT.

She's adorable , beautiful , sexy, smart, witty and successful -- look how that always brings out some very frustrated life hating losers to insult her. There's always a small % of life hating people who will try to bring anyone down to bring themselves up. You can find that everywhere, at your local coffee shop, stores , daily life. For someone famous like Madonna - it's magnified many times. That's why this woman and many other people are confident, the last thing they need is to be influenced by the sad group of bitter angry failures at life that often spew hatred and insults in comment sections.

@journalistethics dotcom oh another idiot that believes nutty Internet stories about satanic cults and Madonna. OK. Got any proof, nut boy? Yes satanic cults exist in Hollywood, but hard to believe madonna was or is part of one. She adopted several kids from Africa to give them a better life and a bunch of other stuff for charities in her time. You she seems like a pretty down to earth, nice woman in many interviews when she drops the facade. Why on earth would she be in a satanic cult? What has it done for her? She's still aged like any one else would age. Still has the same human problems thst we all have. Can't see the benefit. Not only that, why on earth would the American law arrest her, execute her and then put an exact clone back in her place ? Lol That's the same as not killing her in the first place. What would be the point in any of that? And why would they execute her and not the other several thousand members in the cults? Hope you have some sensible answers for me .

This was her Papa Don't Preach and Who's That Girl look. The bleach blonde hair and heavy eyebrows. She was also very tone and I really think she looks stunning. This also resembles her True Blue album cover look. This phase lasted about 2 years . Then Like A Prayer came out and she had darker hair and kind of a new image. This woman has completely reinvented herself every few years but she can really pull off any look and that's the truth. I actually remember when this aired, I stayed up to watch it, I had just turned 14 and was obsessed with Madonna. This was when she was a little more subdued.

I mean, her success speaks for itself, no matter how many haters get in the way. She is STILL current despite her age and time. They said being a "bitch" never pays off and sooner or later it's got to end up wrong. Well, she seems quite immaculate to me, in times when Michael Jackson didn't make it...Britney Spears has had ups and downs but never really stayed at the top of anything...Gaga became more of a "nich artist"...but Madonna is one of a kind. I dare to say that ANYONE, regardless of personal tastes in music and cultural background can come up with one of her songs and actually say they like it. That's more than enough to say an artist has trascended. I personally never thought she'd make it with that...sort of...attitude, whole package...I thought she'd be survived by MJ or even the new ones. Well, she turned out way smarter and stronger than anybody. Prove me wrong.

@@annlanders978 More bullshit. Michael lifted every dance move he ever did from other people, he used cowriters and coproducers just like everyone else and it is now accepted fact that by the mid-1990s his voice disappeared and it wasn’t even him singing on his records from that point on. Michael’s career never recovered after the first trial/accusations. To date Blood on the Dance Floor has barely sold 1 million copies globally, and the lead single barely sniffed the Hot 100 Top 40. Invincible was his first studio album in years, and had an all time record $50 million marketing campaign behind it, yet it couldn’t even sell 8 million copies globally.

Madonna is highly progressive,liberal,nonconformist and it rubbed a lot of people who were more conservative the wrong way. That's why she is viewed as highly controversial. She stuck up for the LGBT community. She promoted female empowerment that includes owning your sexuality. She stated that doesn't use sex to promote herself. She's a sexual person and that it shows in how she promotes herself. She created anti-racist video, Like A Prayer She tries to promote universal love and unity through her music. She believes that music can unite people. She doesn't think in black and white. She had "black" and Latino boyfriends before she was famous. heck....She wanted be a R/B song artist, but her manager wanted her to do pop music instead. She's diverse in music genre. She has been speaking up for those that are marginalized whether women, gay, non-white, people that aren't of the religious mainstream She's donates and sets up schools in African country, Malawi. She adopted 4 children from there. She even stated that she felt more of a connection with her adoptive David than with any of her other children. She let David go to a soccer academy in Portugal, and she relocated to there to be near him. She has a lot more emotional depth and sensitivity than people think. I think part of it has to do with the death of her mother when she was 5 years old. She also lost gay friends to AIDS. She also was victim of rape. It really bothers me when I see people judge her as having a black heart, satanic, and other negative stuff. The prejudice against her really bothers me. ....especially, when she really is a caring person that has been helping others She's not just a performer. She's an activist and philanthropist. She made millions of dollars and she has given back. Madonna Louise Ciccone is more than just a "diva"

@njplr
@njplr 9 жыл бұрын
mantra3000 Clearly, you haven't spent too much time on YT, if you think that little exchange is as ridiculous as YT can get. There is a GREAT deal of fatuous, ignorant, mean-spirited commentary posted here quite frequently. YT comments can and DO get quite "hostile and dumb". That stated, let me simply point out, tovishal took what is basically a light-hearted, fun clip from a late night American gossip show, and turned it into an opportunity to attack US values and to laud the superiority of HIS (Middle Eastern, I'm guessing) "more evolved" culture. I probably should ignore such ignorance with the icy, silent contempt it deserves, but I confess, ever since 9-11 I just can't. I am so sick and tired of us (the US) being criticized in such fashion. Why would he even bother watching a clip of Johnny Carson if he feels this way? I certainly wouldn't choose to watch some Iman ranting about moral turpitude in the US. He watches it because we produce fun shows, because our celebrities are world famous, and because it's INTERESTING. Like it or not, the US has power and influence worldwide, particularly through our music, movies, TV, and entertainment industry. Tovishal displays envy and jealousy, and masks it with contempt. I call him out on it. (sorry, I didn't mean to run on, but I did want to justify my post. YOU, at least, seem reasonable and open, and I have no wish to be perceived as just another "hater" here on YT.)

Love or hate Madonna, she is one of the pioneers. People dont realise how controversial it was just to turn up in that outfit, the stations would have had complaints. Cher was the first woman to show her belly on tv in a dress and there was uproar. It must be hard for the younger lot to find something that hasnt been done already. Half of the Kardashians outfits are all Cher rip offs from 50 years ago. Gaga is Bowie, Elton and Madonna morphed into 1. The meat dress was original, though, and her Kermit outfit 😂😂😂
