What a song to react to first. Frozen was the lead single to the RAY OF LIGHT (1998) album. she was really into Kabbalah and Mysticism around this album., and also had her first child then recently (1996). Maybe next some of her singles heading into the 00's, DON'T TELL ME, DIE ANOTHER DAY (Bond Theme), AMERICAN LIFE (the original unreleased video (Iraq war climate) if it wont get blocked) LOVE PROFUSION, HUNG UP (ABBA sample), 4 MINUTES (with Timbaland and Justin Timberlake),..... theres a whole heap.

not sure if anyone mentioned this but she was actually depicting the morrigan. she was the celtic goddess of birth/death. she’s a shapeshifter but is most often depicted as 3 women that were still the same person kinda like the holy trinity. crows and ravens are her companion animals.

I agree! It's one of the album's you can listen to as a whole. I re-discovered the album over Christmas and I like it even more now that I'm in my mid-30s. I was 14 when it came out. So I connect to this way more. "The power of good-bye" and "Nothing Really Matters" are great too. "Ray of light" too. Imo her best album.

I consider the Ray of Light album her best work. It was totally different and innovative .Unlike her previous standard pop stuff .I liked Madonna of the 1990s .Never was a fan of her stuff in the 1980s except for Holiday ,her debut single in late 1983

HUMAN NATURE from Bedtime Stories Album (1994) is a great 'I don't give a...' song (of which she has song on the MDNA album (2012) titled that haha) in response to the backlash she got over the previous era (EROTICA (1992)) and the Sex book controversy.

Hi Dude, I just started to check your channel and reactions, since last weekend. You have so much common sense and accuracy in your comments. I have a lot of good things to say about your reactions! Keep going with your channel and reviews! This video is one of my favorites from late 90s from Madonna. It has a similar vibe to the one from Marina, I´m a ruin (2015) you just commented few days ago. Also, it has some similar effects to the movie the snow white and the huntsman from 2012. This video is better than many things done up today and it has 22 years old, done by the music video director Chris Cunningham. Congratts to him too! Cheers!!

welcome to the Madonna Journey. You're up for a wild ride. Since you know the classic 80's stuff I'd suggest to start with the 90's stuff: "Bedtime story", "Human Nature", "Nothing really Matters" and "Drowned World/Substitute for Love". Maybe the Live performance of Vogue in the Reinvention world tour(she changes elements of old hits when she performs it again, it's never the same experience). The 2000's Has some great moments for reactions too, like "What it feels like for a girl" (banned from MTV for graphic violence) and the whole Confessions era. 2010's were kind of weak, but her last album, Madame X, was amazing. I'll tune in for your next Madonna reaction
@roger12963 жыл бұрын
This was from her Ray of Light album and it was the first single released from that album. This entire album was written & produced by Madonna and William Orbit, and to date, is her best work IMO. This album was her first album in over 12 years, so many fans were salivating at the release. Everything about Madonna’s artistry was multiplied by thousand percent when she recorded this album. She had improved her vocals with lessons due to her film Evita. She had just gave birth to her first born (Lourdes), so all her artistic juices were overflowing, and that’s why I feel it’s still her best work of all time. The song is definitely about a closed, hardened heart, and the video takes on many visual elements of mysticism and magic. At that time, Madonna was heavily into Kabbalah.

Magnificent song and video. this was huge in the 90's and first single from the classic , brilliant Ray of Light album . Madonna has so many incredible songs and videos specially in the late 90's and 2000's . Her albums MUSIC, AMERICAN LIFE AND CONFESSIONS ON A DANCE FLOOR are magnificent and her recent album MADAME X is one her most experimental and pure work of art. You should watch Dark Ballet , Girl Gone Wild, American Life ( the directors uncensored and uncut version) Bed time stories , What it feels like for a girl ,Hung up , and yo will see what a diverse music and catalogue she has.

Back in the day, during "The Making of" of this video, Madonna explained that her character could be described as the "Personification of Female Angst". So I've always thought the special effects done on her character, represent how the person she is singing about, sees Her. She is speaking simple truths about love, but this person is so isolated, closed off and "Frozen", that what she is saying is actually a SCARY ans MYSTRIOUS to him. (Thus that's how he sees Her).

I love seeing you take in the visual. It's pretty tame by today's standard but she elevated Goth & Emo when this premiered.

Mixing familiar lyrics/elements with more experimental things is actually a smart way to approach a song like this as an artist. She’s singing the song to herself to unfreeze her self from her own ego.

Hey. Love Love your reaction vids. While I am biased (Madonna is my fav)...please do more of her stuff. your reactions are very complete and concise (unlike others lol). She is the greatest video artist ever - over 70 videos - even if you heard the songs, the videos are fantastic. and the non singles are just as good (some exception of course). She is so underrated as far as her song writing goes - and the music is also great. shes always had such great producers/production. I would say to go album by album, why not, there's 14 i think. all of us madonna lovers would appreciate it . ps, my fav song of hers is Ill Remember

This was the first Madonna song I listened to. I did not know it was Madonna but I was really, really drawn to it as a seven year old. I knew it was about cold or rain even though I couldn't understand English back then and never saw the video until I was much older. Weird. But I loved it. This made me a Madonna fan.
