People often say Madonna looked so 80s. I'd argue it was the 80s that looked so Madonna.

Into the Groove is totally timeless Madonna magic! Everyone that hears it, likes it. It was her first number one single in the UK. The remix from the You can Dance LP is incredible. The way her vocals are chopped around on the words “Come on” 80’s gold!!!

The tambourine toss is everything. Only beaten by the fan flip during Vogue VMAs.

Best version is definitely Who’s That Girl Tour (watch the Ciao Italia version).

The best live version of “Into the Groove” was filmed at the Stadio Comunale in Turin, Italy on the final night of the Who’s That Girl World Tour in 1987 …The performance was broadcast live across Europe and then released on the home video: ‘Ciao Italia: Live from Italy’

Great review Seph! This concert was amazing. I had excellent seats right up front. I think they cost me around $40. My favourite version of this song being performed was at the Sticky and Sweet Tour. It’s brilliant. I bet you will love when she performs Like a Virgin.

Yesss!!!! She kills. Great reaction. I love that tour!

Another great reaction! I love the fact that you are going through the tours one song at a time. And there’s many tours tours so lots of content to come if you’re enjoying the Madonna live journey. Best wishes :)

Madonna has so much energy here. She is shot out of a cannon. I'm exhausted just watching her. But the real treat here is her backing band. It's incredibly hard to play a heavily sequenced synth dance song, like this one, using all live musicians and no backing recording. Particularly impressive is the keyboardist just over Madonna's right shoulder playing the synth bass line by hand. And it sounds perfect. That is exhausting and requires incredible rhythm. (5:34) (7:09) I love this bit where you mimic Madonna's dance moves as she sings "touch my body, move in time" and puts her hands on her crotch. (8:50) "Is this one of them like guilty pleasure songs? It's gotta be." It's never been a guilty pleasure for me. This is high quality, infectious, dance pop. And it started the process of reshaping my opinion of Madonna.

Yes you heard a different arrangement in Blond Ambition. She often changes up her classic hits for various tours. And that risky tambourine toss 😱 I love when she adds in a complication with her performance.

Well my favorite version of this song is The Who's That Girl Tour (1987), although The Sticky And Sweet Tour (2008) is a must see too.

My favourite live version of Into The Groove is from 1987's Who's That Girl concert (from her 1987 remix album You Can Dance). My 2nd favourite is from the 2008 Sticky and Sweet tour (with the jump ropes and Keith Haring visuals).

This smash hit song was co-written/produced by Madonna and Stephen Bray, was featured as a soundtrack in the 1985 film she co-starred-Desperately Seeking Susan. She later added it to the international release of her 2nd studio album Like A Virgin. She later performed it here in her debut 1985 Virgin Tour. This was the era where her fashion style sparked a craze among young women fans known as the “Madonna Wannabes” who showed up at her Virgin Tour concerts dressed up like Madonna. ITG is acclaimed as one of her greatest dance hits.

Into the Groove is one of Madonna's signature songs, and as such, she has performed it on 7 tours! Virgin (1985), Who's That Girl (1987), Blond Ambition (1990), Re-Invention (2004), Sticky & Sweet (2008), Rebel Heart (2015), and Celebration (2023)

I also LOVE this versión better. Maybe IS cause It was performed near in time when the song It was created, so it's a more pure representation of it

This version was fantastic!! I think it’s even better than when she performed this on the Blonde Ambition tour. I love 80’s Madonna! If you want a drastic and beautiful vocal change, watch her performance of You Must Love Me that she performed at the Academy Awards. Don’t know what year off hand but it’s easy to find.

Hello, you heard this song in the Blond Ambition. Madonna in her live shows always changes the versions of her songs, if you hear the original it is different from the 2 versions you have heard. Madonna in order not to be out of breath singing began to run and use a bicycle while singing to then hold up on tours

Since you mentioned the over the top makeup, it’s because she’s on stage and it brings out her face for the people farther away, and it was the 80’s, ( Look) her later tours, she wears very minimal makeup.

She was the 80s girl that all the girls tried to look like. She ran the 80s in her hands , girls loved all her fashion. To where she put out her clothing and jewelry stuff in stores .

Okay, get into the Groove, 1 the Madonna 's finest, I guess I tell what her voice sounds like [live], there was a kind of a difference what her voice sounds like in the recording studio 🎙(spoil alert ⚠️ they use to speed up her voice (on her early stuff),but in this 1 they don't have to, that's all I can think of for now thank you Seph 👍😊.

The original recorded song is much more synth based, but it still great. In this live performance you can hear more instruments and that makes it the best version for me.

Well this was fun 💃 Man these Madonna songs are taking me back... Dang. I remember when my childhood bestie and I were grooving in the back seat of my Dad's car to Madonna... Imagine being a grown @$$ man for a moment and having two 5 year old girls singing at the TOP OF THEIR LUNGS lyrics to "Into The Groove" 😂 I would say "my poor Dad" but he actually liked Madonna. He also liked Gwen Stefani when my sister and I started playing her music back in the day. You know... it's slowly becoming apparent to me that in music years I'm older than I think I am 😱 Imagine being able to say, "I remember back in my day..." And that's when it is official: You are now you're parents 😂😭 So Seph did they get "Into The Groove" back in YOUR day? Or were you all just a bunch of stiffs? 😜 Bloomin' Marvelous reaction Seph! Well done! Hope your Dad and them are doing well & that you are somewhere out celebrating (perhaps even getting into the groove o.O) I'm sorry. I can't help myself...🎶Sugar Pie Honey Bunch🎶 (🎶It's the same old song🎶 you know). Okay, okay I'll 🎶Stop In The Name Of Love🎶 Sorry! I'm tired and when I'm tired I get silly :D Peace ✌, light 🌞, love 💖, & blessings to you & yours & to one & all here as well 💕

@@SephPlays I don't know Seph. What are YOU reading? Sometimes you make me wonder if you have more of that dark side of the crystal energy going on than not. I dig it though- it's fun and light and everyone needs to have fun and just chillax ya feelz? I'm thinking you do 😜 P.S. Awww I love your Dad too a little bit more each time we have a chat here in the comments 😊
