Howard Brookner, directed, co-produced and co-wrote the film. He died of AIDS in 1989. He was 34 years old. Four months before the film was to start, Brookner knew that he was dying and decided to stop taking his AIDS medication. Madonna in an interview later said, ''I knew something was wrong halfway through the movie but I wasn't going to press him. He had a right to keep it private. Later, when he phoned and said, 'I have to tell you something,' he couldn't get it out. I said, 'I already know.' I think it was kind of a relief that I knew and that my feelings about him weren't going to change.”

Madonna was always stunning and carried the vintage look very well. Shed looked as much as a flapper in the 20s and a very gorgeous one at that.

Madonna looks like Colleen Moore here. I’ve always felt she would have been a good silent film actress, had she been around in that era.

Beata lei.

Damn. How I wish Madonna had been blessed with actual acting talent. If she had been a solid actress (and let's not sugarcoat it...she never was), imagine the supernova movie stardom she could have achieved. That an entertainer with such stunning looks and such an amazing screen presence (and who also has always wanted to succeed as an actress) has zero acting talent is the biggest of cosmic ironies.
@ginasousabranco56374 жыл бұрын
I don't think Madonna's Golden Globe's Best Actress winner against as so called solid actresses as Glenn Close, Frances McDormand, Debbie Reynolds can't be considered "zero acting talent"
@nickyd35724 жыл бұрын
It's a combination of her thinking she'd learn on the job and her horrible choices in movie roles. I don't think she ever took acting serious enough with the exception of Evita, when she took voice lessons for the first time.
@t.e.burgos32634 жыл бұрын
@@ginasousabranco5637 The Golden Globes are a joke in Hollywood. They infamously gave Pia Zadora an award. They gave Madonna the Nomination and the Award because they knew that it would cause her to be at the award ceremony, and thus, help the ratings.

You know that is just your opinion correct? It doesn’t mean it’s true or correct! There’s many people that would think different from what you said. Anyone can have an opinion and that’s it just an opinion.
@t.e.burgos32634 жыл бұрын
@@JoeyGarcia. Nah. Everyone with eyes and ears, and a modicum of critical appreciation can tell that Madonna cannot act. She started her Hollywood career with no acting talent, and 30 years later, she still has zero acting talent. Now, her singing and her musical accomplishments are undeniable. She is one of the few musical acts that can TRULY be called "iconic" and "legendary" (two words that are extremely overused and misused). But acting-wise? She is nothing.
