She isn’t the best singer but the full package is there. No matter how good your favorites are, no one will ever do it as good as Madonna.

Omg. She is and has always been the gold standard of fitness. Dancing crazy and singing without losing her breath. You should see what her training regimen was during this period. NOBODY performs live better than Madonna.

This is Madonna at her peak in my opinion. The black and white footage is from the documentary "Truth or Dare" that was filmed during this tour. I was obsessed with it. The tour was brilliant. She set the stage for many of the Diva shows that are happening now. I LOVE Madonna. She is amazing. She gave no Fs and she wasn't afraid to say it. From this tour "Holiday", "Like a Prayer", "Express Yourself" - the whole concert (filmed by HBO) can be found. I am subscribe for this content. She is the QUEEN.

You captured in your reaction what many of us Madonna fans have felt and said about her artistry. This number and choreography is spectacular!!! One of my faves. Appreciate you covering this performance-it’s one for the ages!

Nobody will ever touch this woman. No matter how many times I see some of her performances, I am still so moved and so impressed and awestruck. This song deserved a video but perhaps that would have taken from this performance. The way this simple concept was turned on it’s ear and made incredibly technically complicated. Her tours are an absolute essential in understanding what an incredible artist she is. Nobody will ever touch her. No amount of hair flips, no amount of duck walking, nothing will ever replicate this set of talents. And don’t get me started on the magic and chemistry of this particular group of individuals. Nikki and Donna had to become dancers to make this the best girl group that never was. Those two should have did a girl group! Lady Gaga can put on all types of costumes and get all sorts of dancers and it will never have the same power. She also recycles choreography for years and years to the same songs but I digress. I will never forgive my eldest sister for not taking me to this concert. She got tickets and said she was going to get me one and then said she couldn’t. At least I got a t shirt that I wore into the ground. I really wish Madonna would bring Nikki and Donna back for this tour. And bring back the boys for at least a set or a performance of Vogue.

Very cool. I wish she would sing this song live again. Even just a snippet. It's a fantastic song (and this performance is epic, much like the entire tour).

Also do realise that her choreography is almost always relevant to the messaging of her songs. The choreography of her shows are very rarely empty or without substance. They are not just technical movements.

MADONNA cares so much for her dancers and back up singers. She doesn't get enough credit for her live shows. She sings live, dancer, acts and puts on a hell of a show. Love your reaction.
@purpledragonfly313 Жыл бұрын
The woman always was and still is fireworks personafied. Niki and Donna always danced in her shows, as well as being her regular back up singers for soooo long. It was sad when they didn't do it anymore, but I completely understand why it eventually got to be too much. I haven't seen the last tour she did, but I've been to two and seen the rest on screen. The first two were regular in presentation and then Blonde Ambition changed everything for everybody in terms of how a concert could be a theatrical presentation of the music, not only the normal performance.
@dalee72 Жыл бұрын
It's spelled Blond Ambition Tour. I would say it was her Who's That Girl Tour that started the theatrical element in concerts at least for her. 😘

Nikki even broke her leg really bad. It had to be reattached if I remember correctly, but this was after 2000ish. There’s an interview on a podcast with her.

@@taintedlife2618 It was in the MTV Breakfast With Madonna by Kurt Loder where Madonna said that Nikki sprained her ankle because it wet on stage because of the rainy season in Japan where she opened her Blond Ambition Tour.

This is one of my favorite Madonna performances. It's actually the last song of the show and the original is longer. This is the edited version of the 'In bed with Madonna'/'Truth or Dare'. I saw this live and I'm gonna see her live in a few weeks again. Yes, she is the Queen!

Love your Madonna Journey President Pat. Why is it so hard from the Girlie Show is one of the moments that is etched in my brain as a moment my younger self needed to see. You could hear and see she meant every single line that she sang. The message to the song is as relevant today.

The intro song that she sang that she sort of mashed up with Keep It Together was Family Affair by Sly And The Family Stone. This version of the performance is edited and it cut off the 1st verse of the song and doesn't show the full, complete performance. You should re-react to her performance of this song in Yokohama, Japan, Houston, TX, L.A., N.J., Barcelona or Nice France. The look and choreography of this performance were inspired by Liza Minelli's Cabaret and Stanley Kubrick's The Clockwork Orange. This single was released in January 1990. This song was the last single from her album Like A Prayer album which was released in March 1989, not exactly the early 80s and not quite early in her career. I went to this concert 4x at the Brendan Byrne Arena in East Rutherford, NJ at the Meadowlands. Great, excellent show and she gave her all. This is my favorite Madonna tour. The shows that I went to were the last US dates before going to Europe which was the last leg of the tour. On some of her performances that required intense choreography like Express Yourself, Where's The Party, Vogue, etc. she has a backing track playing while she does her best to sing along to it while dancing at the same time. React to her other performances from this tour especially Open Your Heart, Where's The Party, Like A Prayer, Live To Tell, Oh Father, Papa Don't Preach, Sooner Or Later, Hanky Panky, Now I'm Following You Pt 1 & 2, Material Girl, Cherish, Into The Groove, Vogue and Holiday if you haven't already. And react to her club and TV performances and her other tours especially from the beginning of her career. And react to Janet Jackson's Miss You Much music video with the chair dance at the end. React to the Rhythm Nation 1814 short film and the tour of the same name please. Great reaction.

This tour, song, and performance is definitely top shelf, unmatched brilliance. No one but Madonna could've ever pulled this off (sorry, Michael & Prince, but there were certain things she mastered that neither of you could). With that said, why are people reviewing the cut down version of this song and performance taken from the Truth or Dare movie (a bad choice, whoever decided that they couldn't spare just 2 minutes worth of this song because they needed to cut somewhere in the movie-hope Madonna didn't make that call herself). Instead, you should treat yourself to the entire version of this performance piece, which can be found by looking for the live version footage (either the Yokohama, Japan show, or the final night, Nice, France). Then, you'll truly be amazed.
