this is a studio version. in a studio you can pitch the voice to best. she never can sing live this good. That is the problem. Because of this she is not a gifted vocalist. She can sing, but not so well. Just compare her Lady Gaga, Pink, Christina A. She loses the comparision.

@@a.karatas953 check her performance of sooner or later at the Oscars that is live and better than this studio recording, and she is an extremely gifted vocalist, singing is not all about technicalities it's about feeling and emotion and that can't be faked.

@@bentoth6377 but she is not in the level like a Jennifer Hudson, Christina Aguilera, Lady Gaga or Pink or Adele. This Singer can transport emotions so well and are technically gifted too in all Registers. MDNA is weak in low registers and high too. That is the problem. She sounds well in the mid registers and has only there a stable voice.

@@a.karatas953madonna’s vocals are not pitched. nile rodgers disputed the claims in his autobiography + there are extensive interviews on sound on sound with members of the power station crew about the recording sessions for like a virgin... also pitch correcting technology in 1983/1984 was analog, so the process would have been painstakingly slow and extremely expensive. lastly listen to the pre-madonna demos, the first breakfast club lp, the gotham tapes, the Emmy demos, the leaked virgin album stems, and her early live club performance….it’s all there

My best friend and I use to rock to Madonna's version of this song, but not for the right reasons lol. The music was good, but she doesn't have the range to pull off this song - she was maxed out in the end. We kinda treated this song as a parody (sadly). Don't get me wrong, Madonna has made major influences within music and is one for stepping out of her lane and pleasantly surprising you, but it was like she got on the Autobahn with a bicycle on this one -- wrong lane.
