I am a little late to this reaction and dang it girl you are just as gorgeous, anyway the story behind this song was to shut up critics who accused Selena of not know how to perform an authentic Mexican song, not Tejano, but a Mexican ballad. Better known as a Mariachi Polka, una cancion sincera y triste, well she showed them exactly what she was made of and then some. I can still recall all of the times I saw her when they were just getting started doing small-town venues, or Tejao biales as we called it. Yes, she was so dang beautiful but we were all in awe of her magical voice and dance moves we forgot we were supposed to be dancing to her songs Lol.

I became an instant fan of Selena in the winter of 94,I was just 16 and recognized the talent she had. I also like her clothing style. She was singing the song no debes jugar live. I did not here from her in the east coast until she was murdered. From that point on her music tapes and cds was being sold everywhere. I purchased the tape entra a mi mundo, and I was amazed of her musical talent. RIP Selena. You will never be forgotten. I knew you were going to be loved by many. 😢❤️

Saw Selena a few times in person and even had breakfast next to her the day after her concerts. This song was written by Ricky Vela, the keyboard player, who was in love with Suzette, Selena’s sister and he never approached her in any way and lost her to someone else! The best performance to this song by Selena is “live” in San Antonio at Tejano Music Awards. She was getting her hair done and was called to sing, so she came out with her hair half done and still looked beautiful! Check out the video!

Ricky Vela, the Keyboardist/song writer in Selena Y Los Dinos, wrote this song in dedication to Suzette Quintanilla.I guess you could say he had a major crush on Suzette, but she ended up getting married to another guy.Basically he was friendzoned by Suzette.Although she didn't share the same feelings for him, simply being in her friendzone was the greatest love of his life!Geez!! The guy had it bad for Suzette! Put that man in a straitjacket! Legend tells us Selena broke down in tears while recording this song.Things got pretty emotional in the recording studio that day.He was in good hands with Selena.She did his song justice!

A pro's pro with regal grace & immaculate attention to detail while performing...But also a childlike (Don't mean childlike in the derogatory sense.More in the way to denote pureness of heart) goofball stuffed into the body of a Greek Goddess at the same time?
