This is called Butoh, a form of Japanese dance theatre

This was when it was coming into prominence in msm. 1999 also saw Tori Amos showcasing 2 Japanese butoh dancers in her video for 1000 Oceans. Same era, a German Japanese indie film was released that had major Butoh themes as well.

"It all comes back to me..." means that her actions have consequences... she's responsible for what happens to her and others.

In this case she's singing directly to her daughter and outlining the fact that everything she gives her daughter will come back to her (which is generally true if parenting). It doesn't mean that she's gonna be perfect ("nobody wins" lyric) but she's aware that however the baby turns out it'll be because of how she treats the baby and she's accepting that as part of the cycle of life.

The lyrics state the opposite of your interpretation and the visuals... What intrigues me is the attention deficit so many people have these days.. The look the theatrical references, the cultural references and homages are all deliberate.. Madonna is lit.. She always likes to experiment.. with sound and visuals and there's always so much to unpick with her work.. But the lyrics were rge opposite of selfishness n worship.. It was saying to be unselfish.. And to give wanting nothing back and that nothing material matters.. Only love sustains.. Hope u feel better soon bro.

When she sings that it comes back to you, she is talking about karma. If you love people, if you are kind, you get kindness, you are loved. There is nothing selfish there. The song is all about being selfless, about loving, not about being selfish, or having slaves, or wanting something just for yourself. I was hoping the comments were wrong, but no, you missed the point.

ok .. tbh.. the worst reaction to Madonna i ever saw here.. awful.. maybe he goes to the basement to laugh.. no ideo.. but he absoutley has basically no idea what he is talking about.. not sure if the "demanding" comes from "payers" but well.. hard to let somebody react to a thing often if theyre not really born yet.. and even worse that they have no taste at all.. just awful.. i wasted no round about 5 mins of my life because ppl giving chance.. phew.. sad
