This deserved to be a much bigger chart hit than it was in the UK. She received no UK airplay and people didn't even now she had a new single out. Since she started releasing music through Interscope her chart positions/sales figures have awful to non existent. An Interscope rep actually said about the "Madame X" album that it's release was to quote, not a priority for them. I hope the rumours are true and that she has indeed gone back to Warner's who looked after her since the start of her career. We need people who will promote the hell out of whatever comes next. I hate to also jump in the bandwagon but, she needs to let Guy Oseary move on to other things and get a Manager who is fired up, excited by her and had new ideas to strengthen her career. It anoys me that a living legend is being over looked and is being made to look like a joke. This track, Jesus a Diplo produced banger should never have been off radio stations around the world. OK my rant is over. Love to all of you still in lockdown ❤️.

It should have been a bigger hit but I have to say this is one that has aged well. There was a lot of controversy (of course, it’s Madonna right?) at the time because the album was leaked ahead of its release. But this is such an awesome track it deserved more recognition.

I find it interesting that she used the Matador theme when her two marriages failed, only this time SHE is the matador and comes out triumphant over the bull. The demo is good, but the version on the album is my favorite.

I slept on this video and song when it came out. People criticised this album at the time for sounding too much of the time it was made. But now looking back, most of the songs have aged really well and are really shining through. So many are really coming back to this album and rightfully so.

The 2nd version is one of many that were recorded and made. They're were many more up to date EDM versions. In fact she played a music journalist for Mojo magazine both of these versions and asked him which one he preferred and said the first because it sounded like an old school dance song from the late 80s or early 90s she gave him a huge hug and kiss and that that was her favourite version as well. She reportedly told Diplo that she wanted the track to sound like it was made in New York in 1989. ❤️👋👌😎😛

The whole album was underrated, even though she performed this at the Grammys and the controversy when she fell at the Brit Awards. The only song that got some attention was B**ch I'm Madonna, the KZbin video has like 8 times more views than Living For Love.

I love the second version. This whole album was amazing. Madonna is sadly overlooked now that she’s “of a certain age” . She isn’t getting the airplay her efforts deserve because radio believes that a woman her age isn’t “popular” enough now. Ageism and sexism sucks.

The theme of the bull fighter resonates with her. in "Take A Bow" she is the object of desire, the prize for the matador who toys with her emotions. Then, "You'll See" she recovers her worth and resilience and moves on from her one sided relationship, then in "Living for Love" she BECOMES the Matador!!! I read somewhere Madonna was inspired by artist Francisco de Goya's Tauromaquia printmaking series of bullfight scenes - amazing art works!

I like the additional lyrics from the demo at the end it would have worked in the original . Madonna explained that when making Rebel Heart album she wanted to create songs with melodies that would stand up on there own without any production. I think this is why it is difficult to get a consensus on demo vs. album version on many of these songs. Everyone has preferences. And as you said, when a song is good, it is just good.

I know Radio 1 said it was not due to her age but because of the style of music of the track which is of course total bull. I gave a like for your enthusiasm. But I don’t like the song, it’s primitive sounding and its fancy production doesn’t save the weak tune. It is wrong for a single let alone a kickoff single. It is her worst one since “4 minutes to save the world”... even “Gimme all your love” wasn’t that bad (though far from amazing) It is one of the reasons that I did not purchase her Rebel Heart album. “Medellin” from the latest Madame X album is her best kick-off single in many many years!
