Lyrics:
Wake up young man, it's time to wake up
Your love affair has got to go, for ten long years
For ten long years, the leaves to rake up
Slow suicide's no way to go, oh
Blue clouded gray, you're not a crack up
Dizzy and weakened by the haze
Movin' onward
So an infection not a phase, yeah-oh
The cracks and lines, from where you gave up
They make an easy man to read, oh-oh oh-oh
For all the times you let them bleed you
For a little peace from God you plead, and beg
For a little peace from God you plead
Oh-oh-oh-oh, yeah-oh
Oh-oh-oh-oh, yeah-oh
Oh-oh-oh-oh, yeah-oh
Wake up young man
Wake up, wake up, wake up
Wake up, wake up, wake up
Oh-yeah

As much as we can talk about Mike as an awesome guitarist and writer, let’s not forget the great human being. This band was formed not only to help himself deal with his drinking problem, but also because he hoped that working with sober musicians would help to push Layne to get himself clean. That’s a fuckin good friend.

I know it’s almost like they both listened to a lot of Hendrix when they were growing up in the 80s or something. Even got marshal amps and fender strats and a rotovibe and wah and fuzz. I know That’s pretty amazing because I Cut my teeth the same way.. It’s was a thing of beauty. Still is .

It brings me to tears every time I see or hear this man-knowing how the story ends in this man's song-he goes on only to "Wake Up" dead! He was so goddamn beautiful, unequivocally unique, and incredibly talented! I have personally felt the unimaginable pain and the seemingly unending despair from herøin addiction-the soul-crushing, helatious, horrific heartbreak that only Layne Staley's voice so accurately translates! 💔 RIP 😭 Layne Thomas Staley 08/22/67-04/05/02 🤘🏼❤️♾️

Wake up young man, it's time to wake up Your love affair has got to go, for ten long years For ten long years, the leaves to rake up Slow suicide's no way to go, oh Blue clouded gray, you're not a crack up Dizzy and weakened by the haze Movin' onward So an infection not a phase, yeah-oh The cracks and lines, from where you gave up They make an easy man to read, oh-oh, oh-oh For all the times you let them bleed you For a little peace from God you plead, and beg For a little peace from God you plead

I would like to thank who likes and takes the time to hitlike for me cause some days like right now it's the only thing I'm liking about my life right now. It's freezing out and I want to draw outside I'm going to hear hung by a hook which has huge battle tendencies totally unnoticed ofcoure but that and the devil out dinosaurs I hear hear comes the sun king by them in a round about way. Can't word my shit right right now. Still no @Adam Calhoun so I'm really kinda ĝetting bent about this now. And the soldier guy is still mending in a hospital in Isreal. He should be here in two weeks. Not a peep from the meister himself in a long time. Hey You still are the man to me. But I'm going to frame sbd have to retire my email one I think I'm inserting someone else I need someone to fill the void on the daily and I'm not getting any younger. So I'm getting a bit. Ish. I'm getting my ish on. He's 42 he was in Kuwait then they were attacked during the night. I avoided the phone a while back for 3 days I saw his name and didn't answer the phone. I figured I didn't want to hear all the shit from my family about him. Not being real and I'm being Catfished. Believe me I thought it was to good to be true too. Me half glass empty girl. Cheer up it's only gonna get worse. Feild of pain is where I graze. He's amazing he's not mentioned what happened but he's the only one there in the hosp. None of his buddies no one else is with him. I think thar says it all. I thought gecwas drunk when I finally answered the phone after 4 days if ignoring him. Purposely not answering for fear it was true I had begun feeling a strong hold from him right from the start. I'm not worthy of someone really noticing me for just me. Im actually already dead have been a long ⌚ time walking around going through the motions. Not with kids not with loving friends and all I mean a man...the man...who's gonna step the fuck up and I'll be a son of a bitch! This is how it all started its not long its too adorable and sickening at the same time not to tell u. The phone rang I answered with my deep voice lol then idk how hut I saw a pic or something in a helicopter with helmet and goggles you know what uscgirls start thinking.....ibwas like WOW! I said "Are you in a helicopter? He said "yes" I Said "Oh my God that's a chick magnet!" I said "Will you marry me?" He said "Yes!" I was kidding. He wasn't. If he sees this I'm dead meat. Ttyl. Sorry bout that now the Laner and mcreedy fixed my cell ohone with 100s of icons or tiny badges so shout to him!!! Thank you and always Jerry♡ ok wake up. I have a screen play ready to finally do this man justice. Eileen/LaneyBabylovesyouinfinityLayneStaylesodoesjerry♡♡♡but you're well aware you reside in his soul. Thank you for watching over Jerry like you do.♡ me.

In my opinion Mad Season and AIC are a lot better than Nirvana. Layne had one of the best voices in the world and the musicians are so awesome. It doesn't get any better! It's a shame that I couldn't experience the wonderful concerts live. I miss Layne so much, but luckily we have great memories of him through the wonderful music.Thank you Mad Season und AIC! I agree. But we have to remember Kurt died before he had a chance to show us his full potential. Who really knows how he would have grown. Nirvana's Unplugged was a glimpse that he was more talented than other albums. Make no mistake I Love Layne with AIC and MS.❤

In my humble opinion, AIC w/ Layne left such a deep impact on so many even after decades since deep down they were one of the most genuine, kind, humble yet tortured souls. What I love most about Layne & Jerry is how they are never afraid to be brutally honest in their lyrics to express their emotions. They never tried to please anyone . . .if you like it, great! If you don't like it, get lost! Layne & Jerry were very close . . . I remember Jerry said in one of his interviews years after Layne passed that he would occasionally go visit Layne's house knowing that he wouldn't open his door since he was so ill during their hiatus (1996-2002), just to bang on his front door and let Layne know that he was here and still cared about him . . . letting him know that he is never alone in his darkest hours. Also, when Jerry was homeless after his grandma and mom's passing, Layne offered Jerry to stay with him if he had no where to stay when they barely just met! On the other hand, I felt that Kurt & Courtney and their overall 'drama' just ruined my impression of Kurt!
