LMAO, actually my grand dad fought there in the italian army against the british, he told me both sides had huge respect for eachother, he also told that his reggiment use to gave chocolate to POW that they captured. Honor to those who fight and died. Cheers and respect from Italy

I love how the band is talented and creative musically, while also simultaneously having the energy of a group of school lads just fucking around having fun. Seems like a tough balance to strike but they nail it here.

LOL! Look up green screen mate; number 1 rule: don't wear green when appearing in front of it (same is true of blue screen and blue)! Madness were not trying to hide that because it was new tech at the time. PLEASE tell me you are older generation or pre secondary school of a non tech mind?! It's obvious green screen or poor (early) blue screen. Love it all the same :)

@@katoness yes, but they started only making pocket change for the first gigs, playing in pubs and traveling cheap. They had to genuinely work for what you'd consider middle class, I think it's still not that leisureable as middle class

Sitting in a pub in Sauchiehall street in Glasgow in 2000 listening to the juke box when this came on . About 5 or 6 jocks got up and started doing the dance around the pub !! Absolute class couldn’t stop laughing .

I love the fact that they just used a photo of the pyramids and mostly used handheld cameras for filming. You can see the studio floor beneath the sand at many points. It all makes this look so shittily made and that’s why I love it.

My Grandfather and his battalion would dance to this in 43 in their first-aid tent on a requisitioned gramophone, using a safety-pin as a needle!. When he returned to England my grandmother asked to see his ska and well... here I am! 👍🇬🇧

This is a pretty sophisticated piece of music ,in terms of the structure, for a bunch of lads barely out of their teens to come up with. The lyrics too, although there aren't very many of them, are pretty great - quite cinematic, you can easily picture every line.

I sat beside Phil and his wife on a flight to Dublin from Heathrow as a 12 year old in the early 80's. The air stewardess who was chaperoning me told me I'd be sitting next to a rockstar but sadly at the time I never knew who he was. He chatted away to me for the short flight.
