@@ziggazaggar Doom is a very underrated overrated rapper. He's underrated to normal listeners and overrated by those who like him. Doom did not run the 2000's that's just your own personal feelings. Doom is a very niche rapper. Is he a legend? yes the problem is that he has a very odd style which makes him less appealing and his bars have a lot of references to things most don't know or understand combined with sometimes being disjointed. A legend, yes, a successful rapper? yes, ruled the 2000's? Not even close. There is a balance between being lyrical, being understood and being commercially successful. You sacrifice some of each of that depending on what beats you use, what content you rap about, how complex your lyrics are and the size of your fan base. Doom is essentially an Underground Hip hop great. He made up for a bit of his faults by wearing the Doom mask and having a specific persona which then made him more popular. Someone whose in an almost similar vein as Doom is Lupe Fiasco. But Lupe has more commercial success than Doom. If you listen to all his music you'll find that sometimes is references are too deep for most listeners, but he has clear hit songs and way more people know about Lupe than Doom despite Doom existing first and being more of a legend. Doom should have Collab more with more commercial artist and done more commercial tracks but with his style IF he wanted to expand more. You will never hear a Doom track on the radio, the club, a party, a Summer spot chillout, when discussing lyricist because he's so obscure on the big stage that either people don't know him, don't understand him or don't recognize him as a lyricist.

@@lllllllllllllllllllllllllll0 I'm sure it could be interpreted in many ways, but manipulative influences always target those lacking support structures to further their ends. For example a gang might sell an impressionable kid a false sense of family and security so long as they pledge allegiance to them and animosity to their opposition. Or a media group might try to force certain political affiliations through division and sewing of hatred against the fellow man when the real enemies are the ones pulling the strings, not the minorities people target.

Favourite mad/villain track. Especially for the villainous attitude and the insane futuristic beat. Was sooo excited when i found this and hits the same, timeless. Thats why.

First time actually listening to DOOM (The Boondocks brought me here lol) and he said more in 2:38 then most cats could say in 4, 5, 6 minutes on a track. And with no chorus, bridge, w.e. 2 thumbs way up!

One of his best offerings amongst the endless quality he gave us. Shed more than a few tears today. There's an actual pain in my heart. Rest easy big man. Your legacy will never die and this sad and tragic news will reverberate around Hip Hop for a long, long time. The biggest loss Hip Hop has seen since Biggie imho.

Yeah. But what-s your favorite rhyme?
@ninjasrose16533 жыл бұрын
@@atharris8 There's too many to mention tbh. The lines that immediately spring to mind for personal reasons are... "Living off borrowed time the clock ticks faster." "On DOOMsaday, ever since the womb. Til' I'm back where my brother went, that's what my tomb will say"

MF DOOM is not underrated. he may not been really known in the mainstream scene (which I would rather define as "unknown in the mainstream scene") but in the underground scene DOOM is seen as the sickest/one of the sickest MCs of all time by a lot of people.

“Amazed at how he still get paid but dumb lazy” legend has it Doom used to get clones to perform for him at his shows. Using the clones was a way for him to still get paid but not have to show up. No one ever knew the difference because he always wears masks at his shows 😂😂. This guy was a true menace lol
