I own one and love it (consumer not a dealers interviewed in video). It was worth the money in that I was originally going to do a JVC NZ9 or Sony 7000 Series, both at the close to $28k price point respectively. Instead using the MK2 MadVR helped me get the feature sets included with the unit and saved on getting a 6000 Sony that together was less than the other projectors alone. The benefit of the non-linear stretch for watching multi-view of sports on KZbin TV for football and same for 16:9 content and movies that have changing ARs (Top Gun, etc.) made it a great investment in my case. Love the product and the support is fantastic.

I'm satisfied with the HDR and tone-mapping performance of my NZ8 but the automatic aspect ratio feature does sound interesting. I have a 16x9, screen, however, and this feature appears to be geared more towards the wider sizes.

Nice projector! The aspect ratio can help wider screens more, but all the other features are very relevant for your setup.

Im interested as to why there was no comparison to Lumagen.

I asked folks about that and the general answer was that lumagen cant compete with the tech on the madVR box.

@@JilesMcCoy I can see with ease of setup but technically that is just not true. Lumagen is a FPGA and unless someone can show that the software running is mad vr is so taxing the fpga cant compete that is just hard to believe. I’m not saying it’s not true but with out technical and scientific facts it’s just marketing hype.

I’ll be ready to buy a software licence because my pc as better hardware then the MadVR Envy. I not gonna buy a second PC , at this price. But yeah it look very good.

Its expensive, but I don't know the number. A dealer is likely to help with an in home trial. Its on my list of desired upgrades. On the list now are an Envy, new projector, and a top tier processor.

So you buy a 16k proyector but in order to have perfect tone mapping you have to spend 15k more 🤦🏻‍♂️ idiotic
