MADZ sings Circle of Life

The Philippine Madrigal Singers (MADZ) sings Elton John's Circle of Life from the Broadway musical "The Lion King". It was recorded in Seoul Arts Center in December 2004 and was aired in The Arirang Channel.

andaming ibang chorale groups na sobrang ganda ng rendition nitong kantang 'to... kaya lang, tuwing nanonood o nakikinig ako ng mga chorale performances, palagi kong hinahanap yung klase ng performance na nabibigay ng MADZ. at palagi din akong nadidisappoint. ang hirap pala gawing pamantayan ng kahusayan ang MADZ dahil sobrang magiging mapili ang panlasa mo at kokonti ang magagaling sa paningin mo.

This piece has the 2 choir arrangement, with the animal sounds as "ad libs". Meaning, it has at least 8-16 distinct voices in the arrangement. AMAZING!

@nsdiaz26 to have a voice range like that, we have to possess one or two of these: 1. the right Genes (genes are really a BIG factor)... 2. Enough knowledge on Voice (this is where the teachers/instructors go in..haha) 3. Long-term proper Vocalization and Breathing exercises 4. and most of all... God's will... it's a God-given talent... without it, no matter how you try, you'll just fail... hehe

Please be assured that I understand where you're coming from. However, having won [THE] most prestigious competition for choral singing in the world (i.e., The European Grand Prix [GPE] for Choral Singing)is proof positive that they are, indeed, [THE] best in the world. There is no need for the singers of the MADZ to go around tooting their horns. Winning the GPE automatically puts them above all other choral groups. Thanks for your feedback to my comment.

madrigal singers are the best group singers as for me..singing this piece is like you are making yourself beyond what you are..i'm surprised i heard humans creating sounds like animals.and i am very much inspired to know how you guys come up with this piece..you were great!!!just a simple suggestion..as i hear your song,i notice that the lead singer who leads the lyrics is lacking of voice volume..that is the only thing i've notice..but over-all,you were GREAT!!!!

converse20, they do have concerts to other parts of the Philippines. And not just concerts, they also provide choral clinics for aspiring choral groups. It just happened that it's that time of they year where they need to be in other places far from our country to promote our culture. The're not doing it for their own sake, it's for the sake of our kapwa Filipino. Not just madz but a lot of filipino choral groups too. You just wait, darating din sila dyan.

IMO, the Best Choral Group in the World! The MADZ is the only Philippine Choir that won the Euro Choral Grand Prix in 1997 (The Most Prestigious Choral Competition in the World, also called the Choral Olympics). Other Phil groups have tried and failed, UST Singers in 99, Ateneo Glee Club in 01, and the UP Singing Ambassadors in 02.

Wag na kayong mag away-away! =) Madz and UST Singers has their own trademark sound. Regarding the "Choir of the World" title, UST ang nakakuha ng Title na yon, without a doubt. ;) But the Madz is the FIRST and ONLY Filipino choir who won the EUROPEAN GRAND PRIX crown. They are the Champion of Champions. And I believe it is the toughest and most prestigious choral competition on the planet. Na most likely eh makukuha uli nila this year. hehehe..Good luck sa Madz! =)

I personally liked their rendition. They've used the theater version of the song as the basis of the piece (If you've seen the broadway musical of The Lion King.) Very creative. I know you guys have been having these enraged commentations about this performance. I say, let's just stick to what we believe in. And leave it at that. We all have our own view of what is beautiful. Commenting to on another comment is pointless. Don't take it too personal, it will only make things complex.

Chorale groups aren't usually much in the limelight unfortunately. This one is one the best in the world, and recently became the first and only group in history to win the European Grand Prix (EGP) of Chorale singing. The EGP is the equivalent to the Olympics of chorale singing competitions.

hello?! Are you aware ba sa 6 PRESTIGIOUS International Choral Competitions? Kasama ba dun yung sinsabi mo? Actually anybody can say that choir is the best choir in the world. Even a barangay level na choral competition can say na isang Highschool choir ay best choir of the world PERO sa totoong basis ng best choir of the world ay hindi pa naaabot ng UST Singers iyon unlike MADZ.
