Maaaaaan I want a Maewing but the ones near my base have instant transmission and just disappear into the thicket when I mess with them. I was surprised to see how fast they go down. I've never tamed one before and I think I know what I'm gonna do when I log on today. It's either Maewing or monkey and the monkeys have folded me like 12 times now so ya'll do the math lol.

If you can get some silk, try making a tent and try placing it over the maewing while It’s stopped and hit it with a tranq arrow. It won’t fly away because it gets clipped into the tent

Net gun. Spend the time to grind it out, it's worth it.

Make a net gun and some nets. You can net maewing, nets hold them still for about 40-50 seconds while you tranq them

@@LPDarkSoulsHD they arrived with genesis 2, awesome tools net guns and nets, they work on most dinos, smaller, medium and some large dinos. Best things for taming

@Eternal Legaci yeah I have hit every tek dino I have seen. I even have 2 dung beetles who have been holding me over these last few days. I went to the oil spot phlinger did and got about 450 oil. I think phlingers got 2X harvesting on which is why he was able to get alot more on less. As for the desert my plan is to venture there today or tomorrow I haven't got around to doing that yet

so i’ve literally been binge watching since EP 1 while working, and i have a new found appreciation for exploring on foot. usually i would be trying to get a flyer ASAP but i think i will start traveling on foot to explore the map better. thank you for the content

Oh also Philnger, the reason the sinomacrops is diving is because you’re sprinting while flying. Sprinting while gliding allows you to manipulate the angle so you can dive. Not sprinting will lock you angle to maintain a steady dive, allowing you to look around without changing speed.

I was checking out the desert area last night. I both needed to find some mantis to get some organic polymer and I wanted to do some exploring since I had not been there yet. There are definitely Thylas there at the start of the hilly/mountainous area around the 63 long. line. Since that is not remotely a jungle area, what surprised and delighted me even more was that I found a bunch of Sinomacrops further in around the canyons between 63 and 85 long. I found a level 130 and 150 Sinomacrops somewhere in the middle of that area. It was super easy to tame them because I had just farmed a bunch of mantis and had a ton of chitin on me. More so, the area is largely open so you can easily clear any dangers ahead of time, and there are no trees to lose them in.

In the tarpit, the tall, round spikey rocks next to the ones that have crystals on the top of them, have tons of oil. They don't look like oil rocks but have more oil than the shiny ones.

I found a level 85 Griffin on the island with the greek ruins on day 2. It changed the adventure on the Lost Islands. Love your vids Lord Phling.

Do you ever think it's worth taming an ovis? My friend and I usually to get a point where we go looking for an Ovis or two, but we often try to tame the first ones we find so we can breed them for mutton on demand, but no one else ever seems to even consider taming them. We thought it was great to get a thyla knocked out and let it starve for a while, then raw mutton tame it

Just tamed my first Sino yesterday. Did anyone else notice that them and the Dinopithecus can wear helmets? Sino with a leather helmet looks like he's wearing a little pilot's hat and Dinopithecus with the Riot gear helmet...Planet of the apes material.

Lost island has been kicking my trash... Picked one of the "easy" start areas. I've had to lead multiple rex away from my starter base, multiple sabers, dodge Chalciotherms, Lost my 2 raptors to a high level saber and a theri. Had a decent iguanodon (named her spider girl because she had spiderman colors) die when I got stunned by micro raptor while running from a rex. Got murdered by Troodons while picking up presents, then on a mission to recover my ptery and hopefully my gear and presents, got jumped (literally) by a dinopithicus. Fortunately, my parasaur ended up on a cliff and is still alive. I have to wait until I can get the argy saddle before I can rescue him though. I might be able to jump off a cliff above him and land on him, but terror birds keep falling from the cliffs above, and that dinopithicus is still running around somewhere...

Yup first time flying with a ptera and running out of stamina is a very memorable experience. I for one ran out of stamina right on the edge of the redwoods and a purlovia jumped and stunned me. The rest is history

I think you can use the net to help tame. Oh and a little pack of your little backpack buddies are great against dinos that give chitin.

Lost Island is a very weird and fun map! I always Beach Bob on Early game and I make a little 2x2x2 Shack (with slopped roofs so it's not a square)... And I only had a Smithy, A table with 2 mortar and pestle and my refining forge... I tamed a Pteranodon and then I went to the Ice Biome and tamed a 135 Argent, and from there it escalated real quick... I went to search a Doedicurus and I ended up taming a Dinopithecus... Then I tried again and ended with an Ice Wyvern Egg... Then I tried again and ended up stealing a Magmasaur Egg... Then I tamed a Mammoth and went for cryopods... But I tamed a Monke, Wyvern and Magmasaur before I even craft a Fabricator... So Super Dodos open lots and lots of doors on Lost Island!! For the Dinopithecus I made a Stone door Taming pen 2x2x2+2ramps... You make the Dinopithecus follow you until the Alpha is trapped, then you murded his clan to death, slap its butt a few times then you feed it Raw Mutton or Prime Meat... And that's how you make an angry Monke friend!!!

I've had luck in Desert up and down via 65/70 Latitude . Levels suck on PS4. Very pissed haven't found anything above 114. It's disappointing. I've killed over 150 so far in hopes of a good level.

Hey phlinger, you mentioned that you get faceplanted with the Sino, its just like the glider, if you hit Shift it'll dive down for a speed boost I believe. It does that to me a lot using the gliders

I have a base near those beaver dams and i think the larger ones dont spawn beavers. Not sure if its intended or a bug, but they do respawn rather quickly. May be tied to resource respawn rate.

Oh my God😱 I just realised i based on that same spot😂 I tamed a maewing pretty early on🤩 Now I need that damn sinomacrops, did you know maewings don't have breathe meter so they are literally the all terrain traveling mount😂 I'm in love with the maewing, my level 224 has 400 something mellee, 900 something weight and a but load of health and stamina, wish I could boost movement speed. P.S it takes like 2 shots from a crossbow to knock em out😅

If there is a running pool of when you will hit 100K, I will put my money on the 27th, defiantly before the 28th. Christmas would be really nice. You have earn it. Ark just never seemed to nail the fog right. Lost Island fog is even worse then fog on the Island. Fog inside.... sigh..... I love Ark with all its buggyness. Now Valheim, has nice fog. P.S. If you still live in the North West, I hope you are ready for the cold weather headed this way.

I have a question open to the public please. I've tamed a few Argentavis with a letter (P) in it, and saw Dinos with an (R) I believe. And there may be more but YOU would know more about that so if that is YOU, please explain what they mean. I'm 61, and only ever played single player on the Island. Thank you.
