During all the launch trailers, I kept thinking "For a certain man who loves waterfalls, this map is gonna be paradise." Any thoughts on the Aberration caves? (Behind the waterfall off the north side of the snow biome above the Mayan temple). It looks gorgeous inside, but not sure about spawns, building space, or resources.

That abb cave has lots of resources except metal. Black pearls in the water, crystal, obsidian from the large crystals for some reason. Feroxs too.

The one thing I dislike about the map is that the desert is kinda isolated and its a bit of an inconvenience to get to. Also there's swamps like everywhere, which puts me off from building in a lot of places. Apart from that I love literally everything about the map. Thx for the vid!

That's funny. Your 1st location is where I set up a few days ago. I've seen quite a few Allos, Trikes, and even a giga up in that area. Also, yes, a bunch of obsidian.

The place near the meawings ( meadows) can spawn allos and gigas.

The sky drops on the desert seem to have a much higher rate for red and yellow than other places. Thinkng about move my base to the scorched earth area.

Hey Phlinger you can just use Elder Scroll location as reference in the video instead lol for example "Cyrodiil is a good base location“. "Whiterun is totally good for breeding area"

Phlinger you have to build in the castle in the snow that would be something different for Solo the Ark Lost Island

I can’t build in the monkey temple… any ideas? The green buildup in the building doesn’t allow for almost any foundations. I just get the “can not build here” (or something like that) notification. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Playing unofficial

Server host probably has it set to where you cant build in major resource area or where drops come down at or if it's considered a cave then cave building is probably turned off. Hope this helps. When im able to get the exact name of the setting I will comment again

My base is below the hot springs across the top of the waterfall. Dangerous but gorgeous. Snow owls spawn right above.

Uhh that first one has a rare chance of a giga spawning if you're looking for docile. Plus allosauruses love that area from what I've seen

Wish you could just build on top of the foundations already in place for the POI's. I'm not the greatest at lower foundations. Also wish you could loot the crates and shelfs in the buildings or at least use them.

I'm starting to get the idea that your AB playthrough is put on hold now. As they update with bug fixes, for the new map, I'd appreciate a heads up, cause I'm expecting 27 more days before the map is stable and playable... idk y you guys rush into a less than playable map, like unpaid QA/QI testers. Very AAA gaming house of Wildcard. That being said, why would a new reshuffling of prior map areas be exciting? Idk y, but I'm _really_ enjoying AB so far.

It’s not like what you said. The map is already finished, they just need to patch holes where people can go under the mesh. That’s gonna happen with every map of wild card. Usually, when they add creatures like these, they usually add nerves to them for PVP players. Don’t just assume that the map is less than playable. In its current state, lost island seems to be for the moment a very good and playable map without encountering issues or crashes. Extinction after release in 2019 had some issues, for example if you tried to attack corrupted wyvern’s straight on, it would crash the game. None of the Maps including crystal isles encountered those issues.

Back around 2017, 2018 you could fall through aberration in some spots.

@@coltonmorrison4616 I'm not saying what Wildcard is attempting isn't freakin' hard. I'm just saying given past experience ppl have related to me (I'm kinda new to Ark, and love it), it takes on average 30 days to fix the map enough to be playing without something strange happening with the dinos, the equip on the map like supply crates, and the map itself. I'm honestly waiting to hear about the mesh bandit again that goes around killing ppl from below the mesh, like happened last month I think. It _really_ pissed ppl off. I'm just hoping beyond hope Phoo won't ditch his AB play through, but given his current output, he sure has... I actually like AB, idk y, and I don't like The Island, so Lost Island, idk if I'll like it or not, but I have my hands full for a while on AB...

@@jeffreyspinner9720 Aberration is awesome and in my opinion the best map out there. Everything about it is absolutely amazing, from the scenery to the water, and The design of it. What do you not like about The island? The things I like about the Island is it’s artefact caves, and the scenery in certain places such as the Plains near the Eastern Forest. The centre is an absolutely gorgeous map, From its jungles, to the skull island. The thing I like more about the center, more than The island, is that resources such as metal and Crystal are more scattered. Tropical islands north and south have metal and crystal on mountains, and so does jungles mid. It’s not like the island where you have to go to four different locations, far away from where you spawned, just to find crystal or metal.

@@coltonmorrison4616 Given I've only played for 3 months or so, and I've been on only Rag, AB, Crystal Isles, EX, and Gen 2, I now find The Island as one of the least pretty, least diverse, least interesting. That being said, I have not done _any_ caves yet... and I have no tek, which counterintuitively I like... Kinda like the devs were getting their feet wet, and then got better and better as new maps were added, either from fans and then WC perfected them, or by WC themselves. Idt why I like AB, I think cause it's hard and scary af to me. Either way, hearing Raptor Claus in AB, and not being able to see him, for a while I thought it was like the Dodo on prior events that were there to kill you... then I realized Raptor Clause is immune to the burning on the surface because he only comes out at night, like gunshots in the Bronx... (don't ask). I thanked the Santa Gachas (8 eventually spawned by my base), with KoS rules because they ate one of my water pipes... I was trying to fill my canteen, while water animated out of my caps thing, and it wasn't working... it took me 5 mins to figure out to check all the pipes... and I'm not even close to getting to the surface and getting out alive, so I got nothing to shove up their Gacha bums for prizes.
