Was literally thinking about “best methods” yesterday… as someone from both the OE and Aftermarket worlds, great video 🙌

Textbook! As a noob to hp tuners, this is hands down the best free MAF tuning video available. Once I focused on this video instead of drunk goat rope gen iv maf video, I stopped spinning my wheels processing garbage data. I'm sold...just signed up for your practical reflash tuning course. I know all this info is out there for free, but I don't have time to sit on forums all day, but I can listen to the courses all day.

Welcome to HPA mate! You have summed up a major advantage of course material nicely there and thanks for the support with your comment here. Enjoy your lifetime access too, you won't need to hunt through old links to reference anything you need to refresh on in the future either. If you need help finding your way around we're never far from support@hpacademy.com 😎 - Taz. PS: Kyle has a different style to HPA but he does have some helpful content that hits the mark for some just as some people aren't fans of our/Andres delivery. Nice to have a few options and again happy to have you onboard 🤘

haha yea the Goat Rope's videos are difficult to digest. But still the more videos there are the better 🙂

You’re a clown, nothing like trying to degrade someone else to suck up to another person. Terrible character.

wow, thanks to HPA i just learned how to use a science calculator💪 i don't understand where the original number of 1.176 came from tho...this is an area I'll have to watch a few times to get a grasp on what we are doing.💪
@Built82F100 Жыл бұрын
I know this comment is a year old but the 1.175 is to target a specific a/f ratio. This one being 12.5. So 14.7/1.176=12.5. If you wanted to target 11.5 afr then you would set this to 1.278. 14.7/1.278=11.5. I hope this helps you or someone else with the same question.

Often times I use "multiply by % - half" instead of "Multiply by %" because it makes more gradual changes. This prevents you from over compensating in one direction only to relog and overcompensate back the other direction. Unless I need to make huge changes right off the bat, I wouldnt normally use "multiply by %".

Great video, you are the best at teaching the art of tuning. Keep em coming, please. One question about MAF tuning, if only doing a cam swap and nothing else, is MAF tuning needed? If so, why? It seems it wouldn't be needed since nothing in the cold air intake changed. The MAF frequency output should be independent of the cam behavior. If the engine is breathing in more air at some given RPM, why would the MAF need to be calibrated again?

I have a 2008 silverado 5.3. I have the tube style MAF like the one in the video. Would I have to upgrade it and the MAS? If I do where can I find these parts?
@hpa101 Жыл бұрын
Not familiar with a MAS sorry, assuming you mean a MAP sensor but if not please give me the words that make the acronym please. For going to MAP, you don't have to do this. Actually you want to keep your MAF and rescale it as we're discussing here if possible - Taz. www.hpacademy.com/blog/map-vs-maf-sensors-mafless-tuning/

Do you have any experience using hp tuners on vag platform? Specifically, tfsi and tsi
@hpa1012 жыл бұрын
We have an example in the works, was hoping to have it out last month but had some other priorities here come up. You are basically just demanding torque values with the way they are setup, by comparison it is actually a lot simpler than the GM example here in many respects. The closest content we currently have would be the Ford one in the Practical Reflash Tuning course over on the website, but it's only the closest, not exactly the same - Taz.

@@hpa101 im really looking forward to that! already bought the can course to make my own flappy paddles in my dq500 dsg swap! Your content its really the best out there, and i want to do my own tuning, so hp tuners is an option

Ho to tune ecu and what software to use
@hpa1012 жыл бұрын
That depends what ECU you are tuning. As for how to tune, this lesson is a step in that direction, but we do have full paid tuning courses over on our website: hpcdmy.co/25offyt - Taz.

Thanks but I wanted to tune an old 2015 ecu
@hpa1012 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure I understand the point of difference that makes, you go through the same steps. Maybe this link will be more helpful for you to at least start finding what software will work for you application: www.hpacademy.com/technical-articles/reflash-tuning-solutions/? I do recommend you start learning how to tune before you run out and buy any software or tuning tools etc though :) - Taz.
