@leebreath24252 жыл бұрын
@@supremeburito6406 yeah but because of the lack of good 6inch scale comic superman figures out there and just the nature of figures you need a mix of things in the from where the figure comes from and just things that represent the character well and there are just things every action figure iteration of a character just NEEDS (spider-man figures are a great example of this). i think asking for a smiling head on a superman figure isnt too much, especially comparing the price point to what we currently have.

@@Papan01 Like I thought, it looks _just_ like all Superman logos lol. It's like saying the Returns Batman symbol is different looking than the BTAS symbol. The yellow oval Batman symbol has that quintessential design that 95% of everyone uses, and the Superman symbol is the same kinda thing. Jim Lee made their own Bat logo, but definitely not their own Supes logo. If it's down to saying something like one area of the S is slightly thicker/shorter then the standard S; then we're getting into the minutiae world where someone could say it's a different style of character just going from one panel to the next.

Mafex installed the neck joint backwards. If you take the head off and turn the ball joint around he is slightly taller and his neck will go further back for flight poses.
@tryksta72473 жыл бұрын
Nothing like having to fix an $80+ figure to be correct.
@Chalor.3 жыл бұрын
It's not technically backwards; it's just that it facing one direction you get more of a down motion, and if you flip it around you get more back motion.
@Chalor.3 жыл бұрын
@@tryksta7247 Nah man, you're not having to fix it. That'd be like saying the way a figure is posed in the packaging (like McFarlane DC figures), it means you have to "fix" it by articulating it the way you want. It's not hard to take something like some rubber coated pliers and turn the double barbell joint the opposite direction. I mean you don't have to use a tool other than your fingers, but that's just what I use.

I got into Mafex figures in '18 with ESB Fett, and every single one of them has been the definitive version of that character. There's definitely been some sloppy paint, but if you know about comic Mafex figures, you know what you're getting into. The way they're engineered, the plastic used, the overall design; they're king to me...despite the paint issues that drive me crazy sometimes. Most of the time I order two from AmiAmi - to increase my chances of getting a decent copy, but I do this with pretty much anything I buy online. I just ordered one Supes, and luckily I got a really great copy. I've watched every review so far, and the QC with paint apps, the cape, and everything is definitely way better than Hush Batman.

For me everything works I like the heads up on this one when you look at it from a far it looks perfect. The s-curl could be on the other side but comic book artist do draw it either side depending on how the panel looks. I like the creamy yellow color scheme. That came out of that comic. The thing I did not like about the McFarlane s symbol on the chest with that it's it looks like a cut out paste. This one is perfect it's just that you just need to find the one that is correctly colored in. I also like the cape on the mafex hus Superman better than a McFarland because it's not a big hard piece of plastic that I have to take off and put the correct tape on this one is better flat out the box. Also it has the S on the cape may not be perfect like Brad said but at least it's on there.
@Tokyo_Joey2 жыл бұрын
The glue issue on the chest is caused by heat. I live in Japan and bought this figure when it was very first released. It didn't have this issue, but after one summer here (which is crazy hot and humid), I noticed that the glue had seeped from below the chest. Maybe yours had the same problem either during storage or transportation.

The biggest complaint I keep reading is it not including a smiling head. I really don't get that considering I can't ever recall seeing a Superman figure with a smiling face. Maybe some golden age old DC Direct version had that look...but I'd never display a Superman figure with a big grin on their face. I get it though, but I don't think Clark was smiling all too much while being under the control of Poison Ivy, or the Hush storyline in general. On its own, the head looks very proportioned to the body. It has the quintessential comic book hero proportions. Looks more accurate to Jim Lee's design than Batman. But when you compare it to other figures (or like Bruce's head like you did), it's definitely on the small side. I'll probably just use a taller flight stand so it won't be noticeable. Pretty much like how I have Mafex Venom elevated so you don't notice they're a tad undersized.

Finally someone commented about his spit curl "S". I don't know when that crap was first reversed, but I specifically remember being given a "How To Draw DC Superheroes" illustrated and instructed by Carmine Infantino, waaaaay back in 1982. On the Superman page, he instructed that the "hair part" should be parted on the left so that the spit curl forms an "S". S's don't curl the opposite way, last I saw.

@vgamer113 жыл бұрын
It depends on what you prioritize in a figure. Do you prefer better articulation, or better aesthetic? Do you want figures to have good proportions and anatomy or do you not mind? Do you care about scale? All of these things can mean that you may have to pick and choose from each line out there. If you just want a figure that looks good but doesn't really scale well with others in its own line or articulate much, McFarlane is definitely what you should go for. The DC Icons figures are still some of my favorites but since they are true 1/12 scale (other than the Rebirth Justice League 8-pack) they don't size up to most other figure lines other than Figma and S.H. Figuarts. Again, I would just recommend picking and choosing between the lines out there depending on what your personal definitive versions of characters are.
