As an Iron Man fan, I am so unbelievably hyped for this figure. Looks like the definitive Mark 85 1/12 scale Iron Man . He will most definitely be the focal point in my main display. I saw a guy on youtube switch the shoulder cap things on the mafex endgame cap. I really think they were switched from the factory, because they looked and functioned much much better when the guy switched them.

Great review! Mafex really outdid themselves here :)! Also, Mafex Captain America’s ankles work fine. You can pop the feet off and see the ankle pivot joint. D Amazing does a great job demonstrating the articulation. :)

I've only had two experiences with Mafex, the ROTJ Boba Fett which I was given as a gift and their comic Carnage which I bought. They were very different experiences, that Boba Fett is still amazing, only gripe is the stand broke but I was using that on another figure and it didn't bother me, Carnage on the other hand had a loose left arm that still likes to fall off when posing it around. That combined with it being the first Mafex figure I bought myself was enough to tell me no more, budget wise I couldn't do any more anyway, but I also couldn't risk the chance of QC issues like that at that high a price point. That said Carnage is still in my main Marvel display since it nails the look, whereas Boba is just one of many in my Star Wars display since Black Series has upped their game recently with Boba releases (the Throne version just arrived today and I kinda love it). So despite the frustrations with one I still like both pieces and can appreciate Mafex from a distance.

People just exaggerate Mafex figure problems based on their old history. Some of their engineering choices are still questionable (Mando, EG Cap). But plenty of Hasbro, Bandai and Kaiyodo figures have issues as well. But you'll be hard pressed to find any of those companies figures matching equivalent figures released by Mafex in the last 18 months, especially when it comes to sculpt, accuracy, details, well hidden joints without a compromise on articulation and a good amount of accessories.

@@FrankW1029 That's another thing. Moaning about the price being too high. These figures aren't made for Western markets and probably due in no small part because of Hasbro, McFarlane, etc having licensing rights in the West, but not realizing it would be vice versa in the East. No one is forcing people in the West to buy these figures, as they aren't even targeted or advertised for us. It's down to you if you want it and are willing to pay.

In my opinion, Mafex is the only ones to get the proportions absolutely spot on, the Marvel Legends looks like crap, the Sh Figuarts is alright, ZD toys is alright, but aren't as good as the Mafex. the only figure I've seen get as close is the Hot Toys one which is seriously impressive since this one is a 6 inch figure.

Those late announcements after the movies are released and long delays seem to do them good. All the way since their Boba Fett's in 2016, Mafex have been the best at getting the proportions right. Now, even their facial likenesses are among the best.

Ordered a metal replica Captain America shield from Toys Wonderland, DHL delivered but either it was stolen from my house as I was literally out in the backyard, delivered somewhere else or not delivered at all. This is a dope figure, but it’s really hard for me to upgrade 185 dollars when the SHF is almost exactly the same if not better Bc I believe this one looks more comicy and too vibrant, I have the mafex Thor and captain america and they were def worth the upgrade form the SHF versions, but the SHF iron man fits in perfectly w them, it has as much shine, accessories, only benefit I see is the head sculpt, so I’m glad w my SHF, thanks for the review!

Price wise I agree but you could have easily gotten it for 115 at amiami. But mafex version is a lot more accurate to the movie besides the end when they are all dirty fighting against thanos but shf proportions look more comicy with the broad shoulders and super tiny waist

The lower part of the stand clamp is to help hold up figures in flight/however poses from the bottom. Figuarts includes a similar stand for the Dragon Ball figures and they've been very helpful keeping my DBZ figures stable. I passed on this IM because the final battle Figuarts version was more than satisfactory for me and I also was not a fan of the flapping shoulder pieces on this one. I'm also surprised they didn't include blast effects for the alternate back piece here--pain in the butt to put together on the figuarts version, but the end looks is pretty impressive.

Where are you looking or ordering from? My Mafex Endgame Mark 85 cost $119 with shipping. The cheapest you can find a Hot Toys Mark 85 is $423 and that is without shipping, so we are talking 4 times the price for a Hot Toys version. Nowhere near comparable.
