Mafex doesn't charge 100+. Because it's an import, you're paying for shipping and import taxes. Retail in Japan they're about $50.

They aren't 50 in Japan. When the exchange rate isn't insane they cost the same amount after you factor in shipping. Using the exchange rate as a way to say they're cheaper in Japan is not accurate. I've been buying from Japan for decades. I'm not new to imports.

Yeah, even if the yen and dollar were 1 to 1, these figures are $70 max. I got Venom and Scarlet Spider for ¥6000 each from a toy shop in Tokyo. Some premium stuff like the Terminator exoskeleton is a bit more.

There s this weird thing with Mafex where comic Marvel or DC figures have sloppy paint, although these are simple designs, but live action figures with way more complicated detail have great paint like the tactical suit Batman.

And then suddenly the green popsicle mysteriously makes a re-appearance. Thanks for the review on this product. Like yourself, I am more a Dark Knight fan then big ole Supes. But this product has an appeal to it that would make the action figure display very nicely on the shelf. I pray that fatherhood and basement building hasn't left you too exhausted. Perhaps you should think of wearing a red cape?

If you order off the import sites, they usually run you between $65 to $90, depending on what shipping you use. I think BBTS has them for a little over $100. BUT if we’re going retail, then it’s usually like $50 to $60 in Japan

This ome made quite some hype a couple of years ago. I was very tempted to buy him but in the end I went for Mezco Superman. This Mafex has jack shit went it comes to accessories and especially if you compare it with Mezco s release which at the time went for about the same price at BBTS.

I agree with everything you said and I got him for around that price as well. I am giving it a higher rating though since I am just partial to the fat Supes and Bats designs. Apart from that, it's just a fun and simple figure to handle. Could have been better but more than suffices for everything that this guy is supposed to do. That said, I just started a review channel myself, heavily inspired by the way you make content. Appreciate you!

I own this figure and he’s GREAT! U can most definitely get way more range in the waist/chest and leg articulation u just gotta not be so afraid to push it’s a bit further. Superman a big boy he can handle it 😂 Still a solid review.

The key to buying mafex is to preorder early and buy from import sites. I got this figure for £60 when it came out including shipping to the uk. Also if you have the mezco man of steel that head looks amazing on this body

Both Supermans that I purchased were chosen because they go with a particular Batman (TDKR and Hush). And I don't think I need any another, unless Mafex does an Animated series one (or Justice League) which would be awesome.

Mafex figures are not $100+. They're like $60-70. Problem is a lot of sites mark them up due to import fees. But if you get them from Japanese sites like HLJ or Plaza Japan, you can get them for their original price. Unfortunately shipping from Japan can be expensive when only buying one figure. As for the question of the day. Though i prefer Batman, I'm also a Superman fan. But i buy all of the Mafex DC and Marvel Comic book figures.

I really like most of the sculpt, and despite the lack of shading, the finish looks very nice. Something about his legs really throw me off though. They feel like little baby legs, even though it doesn’t look explicitly egregious. I’m not a fan of the cape though; I like the size, but don’t like the material.

My biggest issue with superman figures is that companies almost never make classic superman villains. I put a new frontier head on my copy of this figure, and he makes a perfect classic superman, but i dont have any villains to put him with :( mcfarlane only makes overdesigned reinterpretations of superman villains and they do it very rarely. Edit: also it really bothers me that companies seem incapable of making a good smiling superman head, ive got both mafex versions and both of them have custom heads on my shelf.

You wanna see Superman’s potential. Read this one comic it’s about the joker coming to mutropukous and the joker is humbled fooled forced to go home to loosely quote the comic. Batman is interesting cause of his no kill rule. Superman is interesting cause despite not having rules he does not kill

I’m the opposite to you. I got only DKR Superman, but not DKR Batman. I’m just not a fan of the beefy look for Batman with no neck. However, I like Hush Batman from Mafex and will probably never sell it. I use this DKR Superman as a McGuiness custom version. I really don’t like both Batman and Superman’s depictions in DKR comics.

In terms of buying superman figures I would only get it if it paired with something else I have, other than that I could give two shits about superman Also if you're a Keaton fan, I would highly recommend checking out beast kingdoms 1992 Batman and modern day Batman

I LOVE this figure, I have 2 of them. The second one is gonna be turned into a Doctor Bong. I wish the 90's mullet superman headsculpt fit on this body, it make it fuckin' perfect!
