Mafia 1 is still one of the most beautifully crafted games ever made in my opinion. Sure when you go back to play it now, the controls feel awkward as hell, the graphics look terrible and the voice acting is pretty bland or flat at times. Yet it still remains absolutely magnificent and you're taken back to the days when this game was new, how groundbreaking it was back then. I remember as a kid the cutscenes blew my mind with how well the facial animations were for it's time. It's a masterpiece in my opinion despite it's flaws.

I think it got nothing to do with patching. The whole game engine was different. Now I just feel like in GTA with some Mafia textures. It's just not the same. You actually felt you were playing a different sort of game and now you could change Mafia 3 for Watchdogs or GTA and you wouldn't feel a difference.

I'm in love with the mafia series! I first started playing mafia 2 (I had no idea there was a first lol) and now I'm whipping out the ps2 and getting mafia 1. When I beat mafia 1 (I already beat 2nd) and I will be getting third. I think this series is underrated and the devolpers deserve more credit! Thanx for the awesome video and I agree with this game being amazing. You are one of the only you tubers that play just a great and classic game! Should of just remastered 1 & 2 Mafia 3 is trash I remember it constantly dashboarding freezing up when driving pretty fast repetitive missions the dlc was better than the actual game but wasn't worth buying due to the in game dashboarding etc, plus graphics looked downgraded in gameplay compared to Mafia 2 the city was dead very few people about in comparison to the second game it was just awful 1.5 out of 10 from me and the 1.5 is only because the cut scenes were decent

Just played the definitive edition twice and I can honestly say, I prefer the original. Something feels off about the remake. I hated the new versions of Paulie and Sam, all the graphical bugs from Mafia 3 are present and Tommy talks like someone from Green Bay. "then i got my first sports car, life in the mob was looking real good." yet thats not even mentioned once in the remake. again want me to enjoy a remake of a game i played when i was 8 years old stop changing the script. thats not what we mean by update the graphics. when i say i want better graphics that doesnt mean change a story and ruin the games identity. it means change 1 thing. GRAPHICS. graphics dont mean story script. if i said yo change the mafia 1 story then yes the new remake is fantastic. but thats not what was promoted. they promoted a graphics update. not a story update.
