Here's another one. If you should not kill a store owner but just threaten her with a gun and leave the store. Go outside the door and hide (take cover) by the door. Do not stay in the line of sight of the owner. The store owner will pick the phone and call the police saying that there was an attempt to rob the store. Now, walk a few metres and wait for the police. The police will come and question the store owner. If you walk in when they are investigating you can hear the officer asking the owner how the guy looked like. To this she replies "I didn't have time to draw a picture" I you walk in on them..she says "He looked like this guy" and you'll get a 'wanted' rating the cops will want to arrest you. Beautiful game. Crazy eggs.

The cop interactions in this game blew my mind my first time thru. They will ask for ID, if they see u brawling they will tell u 2 to break it up. They will pull u over for speeding and hitting and running usually letting u off with a ticket unless provoked further. These cops are so well programmed its beautiful!!

I robbed a store just by pushing the lady and as I was running out and got in my car, one of the male witnesses came running to my car door and pulled me out ready to fight but out of nowhere the cop siren came on and the cops came out with their guns pointed at him till he got on his knees with his hands behind his head! Yea that always pissed me off. Like in gta V the cops will aggro even if you stand there too long. Civilians will call the cops even if you just stand there too long. One more thing you can see in the game is Vito getting known by the people and getting more aggressive through the game. As you start playing, if you bump into someone they might say something like "Watch it!" or "Watch where your going!" or even start a fight, but the deeper you get into the story the more people are scared of you so if you bump into someone they will say like "Sorry sir, my bad." Also the way Vito talks to his sister changes. At the start he is always polite and doesn't want Francesca to worry but as the game progresses he doesn't care that much what he says to her like when he told her that he'd kill Eric if he hits her again. There are many more subtle changes in Vito's character throughout the game, you can even see some in Mafia 3 but that's something you'll have to see for your selves :)

Another one is in the buzzsaw chapter (or whatever it's name was) when vito and Henry are talking Henry tell vito he is from sicily, and then vito asks him how he speaks english so fluently and then they are interrupted and Henry doesn't answer indicates/tell you that he is a rat and he uses a cover up story and lies about being from sicily.

Hi, I saw something the other day. You know, I've finished mafia 2 so much but yet I never knew this. After the war, before you head home you can talk to people. 1. Where the cab drops you off, there is the information/newspaper booth. 2. Then there is the restaurant, a lady would recognise you. 3. Some other easter eggs or curiosities: -Before you enter the actual mafia, if you enter the repair shop and don't buy anything, Charlie will get mad at you when you exit the shop. -You can get multiple cut scenes when trying to hide from Henry with Leo. You can either hide under the bed, the closet or you can get a bonus cutscene if you manage to escape through a window using bed sheets. -Leo's car plate reads SLIK8. -You can actually deactivate the alarm in the safe cracking level, avoiding being chased by cops and thus making the whole mission easier. -In the missions that follow after k*illing the irish guys in the pub, Joe will get aggressive and shoot everyone every time you drive or walk near the pub/neighborhood. -Harry has a special dialogue if you visit him immediately after you get released from prison. The same goes if you wear an expensive suit. -Most NPC's will have special voice lines when you interact with them after getting out of Luca'a factory. (Due to your smell) -All radio hosts have special voice lines that match the events you take part of, such as shootouts, robberies, etc. They will also mention Vito's name after his house burns. -In the mission "Balls and beans" you can get advice on how to enter the factory if you ask the guy fixing his car just outside the factory's doors. -You can get additional voice lines from Vito if you keep loading crates into the truck in the mission where you try to get a job from Derek. The same happens if you purposely give Joe the wrong colour of cigarettes. (Funny af, Joe gets so mad) And I bet there's a ton more to find! -

I actually think Henry didn't die. This might be just a theory, but: He was working for the Feds, and if the Chinese found out, it would be matter of time before the Mafia found out. The only way to disappear without being hunted down? Fake his death. Plus he was quite messed up, his face cut up, maybe masking that it was someone similar, but not actually him. Just my thinking. I want Henry alive.

LotRHobbitFan The theory could be true in real life.But not in this game.The way I see it,this game portrays the dangers and the horrible things that can happen when you get into this line of work.The idea was that you can't get out alive or without losing anything.Like look at Vito.He killed Falcone and got to stay alive and get on Leo's good side again,didn't he?But he didn't really win.Because he lost his best friend.Henry betraying his friends and getting away with it would ruin the whole point of the game.Henry was a rat so he died.That's what happens.This game is a masterpiece,not only for the story and ghe graphics,but for the message it sends as well

I would also add what happens if you rob a store, change clothes and then go back again. The owner has called the cops, and she describes the perpetrator, and every time you step into the shop and stand next to the cops she will recognize you and point you out using different funny comments and descriptions each time. Sometimes in Joe’s adventures she calls him “a hairy jungle man”.

In the Prison chapter is another secret i think: when you fight against the chinese dude and beat him, someone in the crowd says with the tiger mode he would not have lost. Its a reference to the yakuza games where you can fight with tiger mode like tiger drop etc.

I came here for we easter eggs and the fact that they reference my favorite 80s classic ghostbusters just because the setting is in New york is just amazing I personally believe they should've put like a modified police car(the one after Vito left jail) and painted it to resemble the ecto-1 and just have a special event where at night the car blasts from the firehouse to the hotel Vito and Joe blew up just to reference the very first call the guys went on it would've been cool even though ghostbusters takes place in the 80s and this is in the 40s and 50s I still thank that would be been to see
