Just wanna say the way some of the them said "Reserve" and other words, really touches my heart. My grandpa used to talk like that, lived in rural Georgia back in the '20s and '30s. Lost him to leukemia in 2000 when I was only 10 years old, still miss him to this day.

I played this game last year. It was a very very good game. Once you know the controls, things are easy. Story is good as well. In part of the story, Lincoln tried to save the girl from a cult and later take the revenge.. It was the best part. Someone can make a whole new video game on this.

I got recommended some videos of real life deep south tours. And in New Orleans when the guy showed the bayou and the gators I immediately remembered of this game. It's a unique atmosphere indeed.

Well at least now they're starting to learn from that mistake and they're going to make the next game into a more linear experience instead of open world which is for the best honestly because every open world game ends up becoming repetitive and boring especially when the game is 20 hours long with boring side quests with only few of them being actually good and creative

I love this game I know it gets a lot of crap thrown at it and yes it's janky, and the missions extremely repetitive. But like others have said great story pretty decent character development. And honestly I'm from the South and I have asked my family who are old enough to remember those times yeah they nailed it pretty good. But I have PTSD and sometimes the ONLY thing that can help is my Games and this one is on my loop of GO TO GAMES.

I’m 3 and 1/2 hours in and I am bloody loving this game to the point of that so far it’s my favourite Mafia game out of the 3 so far. I went in thinking this game would be mediocre so this is genuinely a great surprise. I will say I do do get why people would be pissed over one thing and that is it doesn’t feel like a Mafia game in a lot of ways, it’s kinda like a GTA game but set in the Mafia world which I kinda like. The gameplay in this game is another thing I forgot to mention, it’s generally such a huge improvement.

The only major flaw in this game was the open world mission design. If they spent a little more time fixing the small bugs and added few more in game mechanics (gunsmith/weapon customization, more choices, destructible buildings, etc)...it'd be the perfect game. If mafia 4 keeps this up, it has a guaranteed spot in my collection. OR they could stick to the original mafia 1-2 formula for storytelling and mission design. Either way, I have more hopes for the next installment than I do for GTA VI

@@fire418 Awesome to know, while I haven't been to Louisiana myself, I can affirm your statement. Though in recent years, the distinctive accents of this state have been in danger of extinction as later generations didn't care to learn the Cajun/Creole languages but a select few are working to learn and preserve the state's historic dialects. On that, though this game was not so well received by many, the choice of locale, the atmosphere and culture is what made this game a real winner in my book.
